Concentrated Strike(KM) broken?
It doesn't automatically recharge from Hidden or Placate Crits. It's only from the natural crits.
Which I think is a shame.
Thanks for the info. I wish they would have been more clear on it in the description. At 10% solo for natural criticals that is not a very special, "special" power.
I don't have it yet on my stalker, but on teams, I can see it being pretty cool.
I was under the impression (from other posts) that it basically has a 20% chance to recharge build up on stalkers, regardless of if its a hidden/placate crit, or just a regular combat crit, I could be mistaken, but I thought I saw that somewhere.

Sure, the devs are supposed to listen to their customers, mister business 101 out there. And if I decide to start suggesting that the devs change the game from being about superheroes and supervillains to being about clowns that is my right as well, and technically Paragon Studios is supposed to pay attention to me. But I hope strongly that they assume a meth-head somehow managed to hack into my forum account and make paper airplanes out of my posts, because I hope they recognize stupid when they see it. I assume they will recognize futile just as accurately.

And I don't think the teammates being in range increase it's crit chance.

Remember also that Stalkers didn't lose a full crit on Concentrated Strike from Hide. CS is a Total Focus clone. If they had made it crit from Hide, it would only be for an additional 28% of the normal damage, not 100%. Same as TF.

Power Siphon adds a neat mechanic to the set. That neat mechanic is replaced by the Stalker one, yet the Stalker one isn't allowed to be utilized fully. Now granted a full crit on CS would be insane, but having the build up recharge locked in to a %20 chance,which Scrappers also get, instead of the kMeter that's unique to Stalkers seems like a wasted opportunity. Which to me is a shame.

Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.
No I'm saying the crits from Hidden and Placate should have recharged Build up instead of the %20 thing.

I sort of think it's a shame too, mostly because KM's build up takes longer to animate which gives you a bit less chance to utilize it...
If we're stuck with a 20% chance to recharge BU, why not 20% chance on any crit? That is, if you use any KM attack from hide and crits, you get a 20% chance that BU will recharge. So you could at least see something unique about the set before lvl 32.

Run up to spawn. Build Up - attack stuff, Placate - CS, Build Up - attack stuff. Once spawn is done, wait for hidden, run up to spawn, CS, Build Up, attack stuff.
Even if its not Perma, Build Up would be available quite a bit.
On test they have fixed the cast time of KM Build Up to be the same as the other Build Ups.

And by opening with CS your not opening with AS.
So now you have to choose do I open with AS and kill it dead, or do I open with CS and Scrap til it's gone.
This would add a nice level of strategy IMO.

Voila! 30 seconds of Build Up.
Granted you cannot repeat this immediately since you're waiting for that last BU to recharge normally so you'd just enter Hide before the next fight, get your kMeter crit and then BU. You'd be guaranteed at least two Build Ups as long as Placate is ready. And this isn't even counting CS critting outside of hide at random.
It'd be nuts. I'm sure they thought of it and probably immediately rejected the idea. And I don't think not using AS would be much of a deterrent. The benefit of all that extra build up time would pretty quickly swamp the initial burst you'd get from AS.

If it did work out like that, I could imagine another tactic for a really tough target to be BU > CS > Placate > Stack BU > AS. This wouldn't be efficient for DPS but it'd definitely get a big burst off on a single target if you could manage it.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
Just curious... when Concentrated Strike "crits", does it notify you of buildup's recharge somehow? Or do you just need to keep an eye on the buildup button?

I used Placate + CM again last night and I got one instant recharge. I have a habit of using build up only once per mob (so it's ready for next mob), so a lot of times I won't even get the instant recharge thing. Oh well, at least CM does a lot of damage!
By the way, I've noticed another Double Critical after Placate and Focused Burst. It felt good!

Not sure if anyone has already posted something on this but concentrated strike doesn't seem to be working as described. It's supposed to recharge build up instantly when it hits critically instead of doing the extra damage. I'm finding that it works in less than 1/3 of the times it should recharge build up in PvE. Anyone else noticed this?
