i would prolly slot it with achilles heel proc as that gives the mortar a chance to do an additional -20% resist
other than that i would focus on rech since the more of them you can have out the more chance you can get the achilles proc to go off and more debuffs all over
Achilles proc, moderate acc and def debuff, maxed recharge. If you fight a lot of big spawns Devastation proc can be nice, as can the Lady Grey proc.

If you can afford Achille's Heel, you can put in. If not, you can put two damage procs to increase the damage. The acid has a small aoe so all targets will get checked for proc damage.
One funny thing is Acid Mortar on Mastermind takes Target Aoe Set while Corr/Defender take Ranged set. I used to put chance for hold from devastation. It is pretty neat.
You want to have -recharge too because with Hasten, you can have two Acid Mortars out and both STACK debuffs. :P
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

I'll ask this question here even though I play a defender because I think I'll find more responses to these types of questions in this forum.
The way I play my traps defender is to use FFG+maneuvers as my buff, and acid mortor as my debuff. Everything else is just a situational toy that can be a huge help, but mostly just waits for the right situation to come along.
My question is this. How do I slot Acid Mortor? Not that I don't know what to slot in it. Quite the opposite, I can see about 37 good ways to slot it. I'm curious both about what good ideas and bad ideas people have used so I make my own informed selection.
Also, i'm looking for end game solutions not leveling up options.
