As much as I love Lost and it's final season (yeah, I said it...so what), Season 4 of Dexter is darned near a masterpiece and was the best thing on TV last year.
I enjoyed last season of Dexter as well. Unfortunately, it's starting to feel like they keep retreading old ground, what with almost all the seasons dealing with Dexter having to contend with another serial killer. I keep wishing for it to push forward a bit more, and hopefully with the circumstances laid out by last season's finale helps the show do that, even though we're having it revolve yet again about a fellow cop's suspicion of Dexter. It's somewhat less interesting because, as I've said before, Dexter was able to take care of Doakes, and Quinn is no Doakes. The only thing that kind of evens the odds is how Dexter may be less inclined to put as much effort into evading him.

I think that's a fair critique of the series as a whole, Foamy. But the acting, and shock value of some of the plot (I'll keep spoilers out of here) points and the quality of the writing was taking the show to a whole other level than the other seasons.

It will be nice to see if they refocus this seasons plot (and Dexter the character) after last years finale as it would hopefully push him places he's not be before. Which should make for some wonderful TV. I'm also curious how the seasons guest stars (Julia Stiles, Johnny Lee Miller and Peter Weller) will play into everything. That's some pretty good talent for Mr. Hall to work off.

I have read that this upcoming season of Dexter will not feature him contending with another serial killer.

In Entertainment Weekly (the land of no spoiler alerts *Sigh*), they indicated that Season 5 was Dexter dealing with the fall out of Season 4.

I applauded and cursed Dexter's Emmy. Not going to spoil why because I waited and ignored reports for so long about season 4 and I know there are lots out there that haven't seen it. But I am genuinely looking forward to season 5 and yes, to keep repeating, it appears there won't be a serial killer to contend with this season, but I am betting two things; A) Deb finds out and B) the next door neighbor is more of a jerk than we have already been lead to believe.

Gotta love opening the magazine to the opening section with the photos and seeing and reading those unwanted spoilers!

An interview with Jane Lynch pretty much stated how the Regionals of Glee would play out. Dang near threw it across the room.

Heh, my mom's husband ordered for me as a gift. Feels like a curse.

I'm not going to complain about any sameness to the wonderful Dexter when I used to watch the Hulk TV show and knew that on EVERY episode "David" Banner would hulk out at exactly 20 minutes and 50 minutes into the show...

I like the Daily Show and Colbert Report, but neither match the heights the Daily Show reached with Stephen still there. Holy crap, those were hilarious years.

I wanted to discuss some of the spoilers I read in that very same article regarding S2 when you Tweeted me about Dianna's promo pics, but decided against it

EW is something of a family tradition when I was growing up, so I carry it on for my future kids

Steve Carrel was recently a guest on The Colbert Report and they did a Steve and Steve segment. Good stuff.

I love how Colbert and Carrel play off of each other.

Of course, they've known each other/been working together for 20 years.
