Question for Liberty! :)
Well RV is a pvp zone so just shake it off and schedule another time to do it on the server you're on.
But to answer your other question yes Liberty is dead enough in the pvp zones where you have a very good chance of getting it without being "omg attacked!" in a PVP ZONE!
That's sarcasm, stop ******** if you get attacked in a pvp zone. Just attack back or leave the zone and try again some other time. I wouldn't necessarily transfer just for that badge.
Good luck with it.
Hiya Liberty!
I have a rather large dilemma on my hands and wanted to test the 'waters' from Liberty. I heard Liberty is the friendliest server out there! Here is my dilemma : during the free server transfers I transfered my main badging toon to a server I would rather not name. This was on the advice of a FORMER friend. I did this to be able to get the Recluses Victory Archvillain badges on my badging toon. The problem was this FORMER friend of mine turned on me and attack me while I was trying to defeat said Archvillains So once again I am looking for a friendly server and perhaps some new friends. I was wondering if the Recluses Victory zone was quiet enough to get those badges and if I could do so without being GRIEFED. I am not a pvper and have no desire to be. I just want the badges!! But now I have to spend real money to transfer my main toon do to so and was wondering if this would even be possible on Liberty The fact is I am just not interested in pvp, plus I'm just not any good at it So Liberty can you help me get these badges? |
However, I suggest you roll a new toon, join the following channels... "LB" "Siterhoodfriends" & "Liberty's Channel" and test the waters for yourself before you spend the RL monies...
Hehe even our PVP is generally friendly enough. I am also not a big PVP'er and our PVP community is small but active on our server. I would agree with SJ, but weather you roll a new toon or bring an established one we welcome you to Liberty. And if you're game Sunday nights are our community MSR, at 9:00pm est would love to see you there.

Like you, I was once a bit shy of PvP. The difference was, I had never even tried it. I was a badge enthusiast, with 332 when I think the most you could get was around 350 or so.
Then, in a PvP zone, I was AS'd (Assassin Strike) and got defeated. I was pretty angry, as I couldn't at that time understand that I had become a target instead of the targeter. I ended up reading all kind of things about PvP and learned that an ice blaster is considered a pretty scary opponent. So, I slotted up with some Hammi-os and waited for the next poor stalker to realize that I had use the empowerment station to provide me with better perception. The the stalker became a slow moving, then frozen target. I've had a pretty good time with PvP since then, although I'm pretty certain I haven't scared anyone... yet.
So, my best advice is to not "hate" PvP. Hate the lag with big teams. But, rest assured - you might run into a villain, maybe not - but as of late, RV has been quiet, except for the sound of the Heavy's footsteps.
Rolling an alt here would be a good idea, but, I don't think I'd want to wait that long

I'd be pissed too. Just not at PVP in general.

I think, here on Liberty, youwould not only be left unmolested in RV to badge but you have a good chance of any Villains switching to a Hero alt and helping out.
If you do get attacked, you'll definitely get some good conversation and a new friend out of it!
Mystic Fortune would disagree, GEL

Come to Liberty and watch the hero population grow!
Yuck.
Liberty is considered the "friendly server". However, PvP is really another animal entirely.
That said, I have been on several teams which cooperated to secure the various AV/Hero kill badges in RV, so it is definitely possible to get these badges.
It is, however, entirely possible for other players to attack you while you are doing this. Remember that PvP zones are, by definition, player-versus-player, and by choosing to enter a PvP zone you've effectively given your consent to be attacked!
If you do get attacked, however, here are some key things to remember:
1. Don't lose your cool.
Even if you get killed, it does NOT help to fly off the handle and yell at people on broadcast or global chat. In fact, usually this makes PvPers want to kill you more. Competitive PvPers will be annoyed if you yell at them (because it's unsportsmanlike behavior), while griefing PvPers will be happy if you yell at them (because it feeds their ego to make you flustered). Just don't do it. Treat dying in PvP like losing a point in tennis; don't be the guy who breaks his tennis racket and screams at the opponent. Be the person who says "good shot" and moves on.
2. Kill them.
If you have a team large enough to defeat an AV in Recluse's Victory, you have more than enough firepower to kill anyone who comes after you. However, a lone PvPer, or even a group of 2 or 3 PvPers, will often dominate an 8-player team of badgers, because the badgers will act like prey (scattering, running, some fighting and some not, etc) while the PvPers are thinking like predators (targeting a member of the herd and taking them out). Don't think like prey, think like a predator. If an enemy is sighted, make killing him or chasing him off your top priority. If there's multiple PvPers, have your team leader or most experienced PvPer announce which one everyone should be targeting, then kill that person, then the next one, etc. Forget the AV, you'll never kill it while being buzzed by PvPers. Get the enemy players first. You have a team big enough to beat an AV, a player is much easier!
3. Get help.
If you're just not up to fighting off PvPers, see if you can recruit more PvP oriented people to help you fight them off. Sometimes you can get people who like PvP to help out -- on your side.
4. Politely ask them to give you a break.
You can try asking the people attacking you not to attack you. Be polite if you do this; they are doing you a favor if they agree. This may work on some PvPers who are nicer, but will not work on real griefers, and may not work if you've already lost your temper and yelled at them.
5. Leave and come back later.
If all else fails, you can just leave and come back sometime when the zone is less busy. RV isn't usually all that busy, and usually if it's empty for long enough, people looking for PvP will leave and find something else to do.
Hope that helps!

=VICE= "Give me Liberty, or give me debt!"
Look at PW being all helpful and stuff! Great advice as usual.
Just don't let me hear about when this is happening cuz I'll come grief you and piss people off in the process.
I don't think it's griefing. It's another part of the game. Griefing would be purposefully messing up a PVE event like ******* up the bombs on an MSR, flooding the request channel during a hami raid or pulling GMs onto unsuspecting players.
PVP is player vs. player.
Does a bad NPC grief if he defeats you then defeats you again after you use a wakie? Do you grief an NPC if you defeat it and then defeat it again after it rezzes?
Are you griefing council and freakshow if you're abandoning every other type of mission and just fighting those? They might think so.
To the OP, It's a shame that your 'friend' betrayed you as they did.. However, I would not pay real money to move to a 'non-pvp server' just to get a couple of badges. As someone reminded me in Liberty Badgers the other day, the DEVs usually spawn the AVs in non-pvp zones during major events, such as anniversaries. I will be waiting for the next event so I can get the Signature Hero badges on my main badger.
That being said, if you're really looking for a new server to call home, Liberty is a good friendly choice. I also recommend rolling up a new toon first to see if you like our community.
Happy badging whatever you decide!

Hello and as others have said already, Liberty is a great server...I've been here for 6+ years
As far as getting the RV Hero/Villain badges, all it takes is two peeps. I know this because Matt and I were on our villains and we were able to take out Manticore and Positron by ourselves (it's mainly just the heavies doing all the damage/tanking). With two, you may die a few times (trying to separate the AVs/Heroes is a good idea if on a small team) but hey if you're lvl 50, it don't matter
Yes you can be attacked in Liberty but usually the pvp zones are dead so pretty easy to get the nukes in Warburg or shivans in Bloody Bay, etc...
And like PW said, just don't go yelling at the person that killed you in RV/wherever, usually it doesn't help. I usually see if that person continues to kill me even though I don't attack him/her back. If he does then I usually just go do something else and come back the next day (again Liberty is 'small' enough that pvp zones are usually 100% empty on any given day).

Infinity is my home server and it's full.
Virtue was my 2nd server of choice but its full.
I decided to create my Praetorians on the lowest pop server for performance reasons. At the time Liberty was last in the list so it was picked by default.
I'm so thankful I did, as Liberty does deserve the friendliest server nod.
Not only that, I'm not forced to be surrounded by uninspired toons all over. So far, nearly everyone looks to put actual creativity into their creations. Something lacking on more populated servers.
To the OP. I wouldn't spend money on a transfer just to get those badges. I would however consider rolling up an alt or two and testing the waters though. You might discover you'd rather be here anyways, badges or not!

I have not been able to play much this week due to school starting up
This weekend I am planning on creating a new hero on Liberty!
If all goes well maybe then I will transfer my main hero there.
One more small question
Overall is there a lot of help and organization with badging/tf's ?

When you make your toon in Liberty make sure you join two global channels:
/chanjoin Sisterhoodfriends
and
/chanjoin LB
The Sisterhoodfriends channel is a public space where usually most of the Sisterhood SG peeps (as well as others/alliance members/etc) are in and are helpful.
LB channel is the "channel for Liberty". It's for general teaming/badging/etc....sometimes it can get weird/crazy but that's why you have the sisterhoodfriends channel as well

If you do bring your main over, give me a shout sometime. I'm @mwruger and I have a badger that could use a few of those pvp badges and would love to help us both get them.
I don't PVP although I have been killed in Siren's Call and RV getting explore badges and you know what? Who cares? Always something else to do. I just rezzed and continued to badge and eventually they got tired of killing me when I just ignored their prattle. Got my badges and came back later to get my heavy control badge. If I was a PvPer I would be hardpressed to pat myself on the back for killing someone who is slotted for PvE and doesn't know all the changes that powers undergo in PvP zones or won't fight back, but, eh, whatever floats your boat.
Once I was actually in Siren's to hang out with a buddy who loves PvP (on Virtue now) and got killed and he was over the top in wanting to take them down and so forth. We fought em and killed them and they killed us and there was suprisingly little smack talk.
As aside, my PvP buddy will go on a tirade about how weird roleplayers are. He just doesn't understand why anyone would do that and catgrrls and cybering and In character chat, etc, etc, etc. I haven't the heart to point out that most people feel the same way about PvPer's.
Liberty is a great server!! Liberty has some of the friendliest, most helpful people in game.
Like any large disfunctional family we have our spats and brats, but the majority will go out of their way to lend a helping hand.
To follow up on DevilYouKnow's response, feel free to hit me up as well at @Geronimo 69 if you're looking for PvP badges. My main is completely slotted for PvE, so I don't venture too much into the PvP zones except to try and pick up the badges. If that's what you're looking for, I'd be more than willing to lend a hand. I've had my share of stalkers sneaking up on me while I'm in there badging, but I'll either rez and go back to what I'm doing, or bail for a while then come back. They tend to get bored rather easily anyway.

Sorry I was roleplaying and wanted to be rough around the edges. That seemed like an appropriate initial response.
