Badge for staying on one side

Greetings, all,

I have heard some talk of a badge that is only available to characters who remain committed to being heroes or villains, and that the badge is forfeited should the character change sides. Does such a badge exist and, if so, what are the rules that govern it?

Many apologies if this has been a topic of wide discussion. I browsed the Badges forum and didn't see anything about it.

Thank you for your help.

You get badges for reinforcing each of the four alignments, but you don't lose any of them if you switch. In fact, you don't lose any badges throughout the entire Going Rogue process. That rumor apparently won't die...

There is no such badge and I have a transcript of a Dev meet & greet in Pocked D where Positron states they're not going to do "binary" badges like the one you describe. And all I can say to that is: thanks carrots for that!

No such badge exists. That kind of badge will never exist according to developers. What you are describing is a penalty for switching sides and introducing such a badge would nullify all the developer's hard work for making the Going Rogue alignment system.

All badges are kept switching sides.

This thread has all the new badges for Going Rogue: Going Rogue Badges

Any other new badges are just rumours at this point.

The closest thing I can think of to what you are describing are the alignment badges. There are badges you can obtain by completing a morality mission for an alignment and staying that alignment for 7 days.

You will not lose these badges if you switch sides again.

I believe there are temp powers associated with those badges that you can loose; that is probably what is confusing the issue.

Right, the temp powers associated with staying a certain alignment are a modest reward for sticking to your choices and not flipflopping from hero to villain and back every week. They are granted a week after you declare your alignment, and go away if you change it. The badges that grant them stay, so long as you remained a given alignment for a full week.

Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.

I think the main problem is that people are thinking back to when the details of this were first announced, and the devs were talking about there being "special benefits to staying true". People assumed that this meant you could NEVER cross over if you wanted these benefits, which for all we know (read this again, I am speculating) may have been the case until internal testing determined that it was a stupid idea.

Well, that has been corrected.

I couldn't remember where I read about this non-existent badge, but now I remember that it was there.

Thank you all for the help!

That info (that has been corrected) was from Jan 23, 2010. In other words, well before GR Beta even started.
