Need Kin / Ele Brute Advice

Hello everyone,

I just recently started playing and I am loving this game so far!!! I have literally tested almost every type of AT just to see what I like the most before I really dive in and start lvl'ing hard.

I think I've found that in my recently created Kin / Ele Brute. I lvl'd him to 18, pretty much solo, in about 6 hours.

I guess I am just wondering how to build this AT correctly, and properly for that matter. Also, does this AT work well end game?

Any help is greatly appreciated as I am still very new, only been around for about 5 days.

Sorry. Kinetic Melee is brand new to the game. It's as new to us as it is to you. So, we don't really have a lot of definitive data on how to best take advantage of it yet.

As for Electric Armor, there are four semi-recent guides in the Brute Guides sticky. They can give you some good info. I haven't made it past 13 on any of my ELA characters, so I can't really offer any solid advice.

As for how Brutes do, they're pretty darned good. It's my all time favorite AT, and I have 9 of them across 2 accounts. 25 if you count the other three servers I only play on when Guardian is down.

Probably isn't such a bad combo really. Electric has no defense so kinetic melee makes up for it a bit by stealing damage potential. With Power Siphon running your damage aura should do nicely.

Only downside is how long it takes to get the endurance siphon. :P

Finally! Thank you for the responses. I have gotten to lvl 21 now and I am really enjoying it so far. I think I am gonna stick with it and shoot for 50 asap. But really, thank you for the responses.

I was thinking the same. Most the KM posts on here are for KM/WP. I've played a DB/WP to the early 20s and although the animations are great, doesn't feel like it does a whole lot of damage. Not to mention all the End sapping mobs turn him into a useless bystander. So I've rolled a KM/Elec for the sake of trying out both a different primary and secondary. Even though he's only lvl 10, his attacks feel much more damaging than DB, so I can't wait for the higher levels. I already miss Quick Recovery and Rise to the Challenge though, and having to wait till lvl 28 for Energize and lvl 35 for Power Sink is gonna be difficult!

Still not sure though which of the two /WP or /Elec will end up feeling sturdier on my Brutes atthe higher lvls and in the long run and afraid of leveling him up then finding out the other would have been better.

I have a kin/elec that I got to 20 over the weekend. I'm not sure I really like it. It's okay solo but doesn't do very well in groups. I realize the best powers are still some levels away, but I'm not sure I can wait that long.

I think I prefer my mace/elec who's also 20.

I think KM will work out pretty well for you and from the looks is a single target set. What you'll want the most advice about is electric armor. What you'll need to do is choose IO's in your primary that add s/l defense

ELA has resists to all but toxic and can be tough to play on difficult settings without a heal until you get infamy enough to stack some defense in there. My ele/ela brute has 35%melee defense with 25% s/l defense 60% s/l resists as main stats

I can't explain in words the amount of work that went into building this guy as my first lev 50 toon redside. The turning point was getting a couple purple drops and selling them off... itfs' and taking advantage of mission architect when it came out to get some specialty io's

Willpower and some other secondary's can be easymode and done a lot more cheaply, but there is some satisfaction when playing "who's the better killer" with a guildy on a +3/8 EB mission and coming out on top with what is considered an inferior AT
