Simple query about freespec
One per character
One per character.
Freespecs can be used with the /respec command, but many other respecs actually involve going to the person who handles these things [Jack Wolfe in Galaxy, heroside; don't know villainside] and clicking on them.
You also have a second build available- although that requires you to buy all new enhancements to fill it up. A respec only works on your current build.
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.

Thanks for the info. I actually managed to mess up BOTH builds of one of my characters, which is why I asked about the respec.
Off to get rid of the Jump pool on my poor Stone/Stone Tanker and get Stamina on him....
Thanks again!

Wow. I need to screw up my builds on Villains more often. Hell I need to play villains more often.

If you are low level, there are also dual builds that are like a respec that you dont keep enhancements with.
We get free spec's pretty regularily, typically every issue which is 3-4 times a year.
I do tend to save free specs until close to the next issues release which I was you might want to look at dual build depending on what you have already slotted with your character.
You might also want to look at http://www.cohplanner.com/ which has two build planners
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
Originally you had to go to Nerva to respec. At some point after Veteran Respecs became available, they put another respec guy in a lower level zone.
The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

I'll be more than happy to help you run the respec trial on Protector if you need to. Feel free to hit me up anytime..
First, a brief introduction: I'm a new player. I played on trial accounts for a couple of months until I got the hang of things, then subscribed my original trial account (which had all the characters I liked on it). Now my mains (Elec/Inv Brute, Robotics/SS MM, St/St Tanker, and a CoA Crab, all on Protector) are all in the 20s, and I'm having a blast.
However, since it was my original account and my original characters, some of their builds are less-than-brilliant. I subscribed shortly before i18, though, so I do have a freespec available.
Anyway, the actual question: do I have one freespec for the whole account, or one per character? I've gotten the impression that it's the latter, but I can't find confirmation anywhere.
Thanks.
