A scene for Captain America: The First Avenger was filmed yesterday, Sunday (Aug 22), at Trafalgar Square in London, England. The extras fill the location, hugging and celebrating, dressed in period clothing. The scene takes place on VE Day, the day when the World War II Allies accepted the surrender of Nazi Germany.

26 photos of the scene have surfaced on WENN. You can check out the full gallery here, or by clicking the images above.

Captain America: The First Avenger stars Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Toby Jones, Dominic Cooper, Stanley Tucci and Neal McDonough. ItÂ’s directed by Joe Johnston and is set to release on July 22, 2011.

Whoopy pictures of people in old clothes.

Oh well I guess low rent internet sites need to pay the bills some how, so might as well leech off pictures of a crowd that could be for any period peice.

Well it shows that the crowd is for Captain America, and that Captain America is definately a WWII period piece, inspite of how many times it's been stated by the director but for some reason people still don't believe it. Besides the people in that crowd will probably have less then 10 seconds of film time, I'm pretty sure they appreciate the coverage.

Well better than pictures of an empty set in a field somewhere with a few props.

The film is 50/50 WWII period piece & modern-day interpretation.
