Resistance to English Dictionary and Phrasebook

Just started a new Praet, picked these up in a couple of White's missions.

"the deep, dark, dim" - The Underground
two-tone - Powers Divisioner?
tattle - radio broadcast or call for help/to reveal location ("He could have gotten a tattle off at this depth")
"this box just lost its chill" - Situation heating up; said when a Vet aggroed on me.
glimpse - look at/keep eyes peeled for

"Five-alive, whipper!" when aggroed, I've got no clue other than maybe "Look alive, noob!" If whipper's short for whippersnapper, maybe slang for a low-ranking Resistance member?

I think pucker face might be an insult of some kind, as I was called a "Pucker face badger".

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

Going to update it in a bit, just need to get everything together.

A person may not necessarily have to drink Enriche; if he's a productive and loyal member of Praetoria, he's still one of the "sheeple," and can be told not to drink the Cole-aid... but anyone who does drink Enriche definitely qualifies for the comment, whether they're otherwise seen as one of the "sheeple" or not, in which case the comment becomes a genuine piece of advice, rather than just an exhortation to open your eyes to the truth.
Cole-Aid works for both, depending on context. Going to add "Don't Drink the Cole-Aid" as 'Blindly following Cole', along with "Cole-Aid" as 'Enriche'.

Do you remember the context for "Two-Tone"? Also, how does "Five-alive, whipper!" sound to everyone else?

Thinking of adding "tattle" as 'comm broadcast'. Any recommendations?

Sounds that way. I'm tempted to add it as 'Ugly'.

((Some additions I saw just now.))

scamp - get out, leave. As in, "Scamp or you'll get chomped!" (Apparently it is also used in the context of kill/die, similar to the phrase, "check out". You can check out of a hotel, or you can check out of life.)

Swiss this cheese - shoot someone

mindwash -- someone who serves/believes in Emperor Cole? (A Resistance fighter called my Loyalist this during a melee.)

wolverine -- Powers division member? (One called my Loyalist this also.)

power pellet -- ditto wolverine.

scrimslam this chompcham -- beat this guy!

Here's one I didn't see when I looked through it:

Static - The Praetorian Radio Network, might be just the Resistance's.

Also, thanks for this. I've been putting off RPing my Resistance character because I didn't have a full grasp on the lingo yet. I'm still trying to find a way to get back to Praetoria from Primal Earth (I heard there was one!) but I just can't figure it out yet.

Updated. Also, I'm looking for a translation on these two:

'Dropbears' seems to be the Ghouls, particularly the ones that tend to fall next to you when you're nearby. I'm tempted to say 'slipperstyle' is 'messy'. Which would make 'confusinated'.. killed? Eaten?

Lesson 20.. now that I'm reading it, just seems to confirm the definitions we already have on 'chomper' and 'scamper'.

((I think "confusinated" would be what it looks/sounds like -- confused. And "slipperstyle" would be stealthily. I think it's saying the Ghouls who drop from the ceiling will ambush you. That's why you should keep your eyes up ("eye to the pie in the sky").

At least that's how I'm reading it. ))

Actually I think "wolverine" was supposed be a joke, because when I saw it it was supposed to be a battle cry when they attacked, like the resistance group did in the movie Red Dawn.

((Looking back at the log, you may be right about that.))

On the Praetorian lore subject, though not quite language-related, anyone know anything about the Praetorian calendar or where I can look in-game for more information on it? I noticed a plaque in the Magisterium today that referenced a ceremony taking place on such-and-such day in "AU35", I figured that was "after U-something" (Unification?) but going by his Going Rogue site profile Cole's only been Emperor for 25 years so not sure what event defined the start of the Praetorian calendar.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I haven't found a very good point of reference yet, though.

I think puckerface is the same thing as calling someone "kiss a**"

He's only been Emperor for 25 years but he was Counsul and leader of the Earth for some undefined time before that so After Unification is still possible.

Great idea, by the way! I'm having occasional trouble on my hardcore Resistance character myself sometimes, and occasionally find myself defaulting to Clockwork Orange nuspeak.
Nadsat is the term you're looking for, and thanks, now I'm going to be giving them all Yorkshire accents in my mind. Previously, it just seemed like NCsoft's version of cockney Rhyming Slang, but it makes more sense to associate it with Anthony Burgess' Nadsat.

Hrm. I'll take it out for now. If it pops up again, let me know.

Just now saw this one.. I'll leave that up for someone else to decide. It doesn't really seem necessary.
