Fire base zulu KORA MISSIONS

Intro

I believe that the inspirations given in the 'Kora' missions should be upgraded back to their original large tier state.

Fire Base Zulu [FBZ] is one of those zones that an extremely small population of this game goes to, often for many it is simply the zone that they accidentally went to when they clicked on the wrong portal in Peregrine Island.

What are Kora missions?

In Fire Base Zulu, after doing a few contacts, players can do missions where they defeat Rularuu in varying sized caves, and harvest Kora fruit.

These Kora fruit would give large tier inspirations, the missions were often extremely far apart FBZ is a zone which is 2.09 miles from end to end and fighting one of the hardest foe type in the game.

The rewards, although small, were nerfed by the developers as they were worried that base storage would mean that people would farm these fruit and sell them on the market. The Kora fruit only give medium sized inspirations now.

We were told it would be a temporary change, but all I can see is that the issue has been forgotten.

Why do I want the large insps back?

I can vaguely understand why the developers would do this, but now I shall explain why this change has no place in the game anymore.

Below is a screenshot of some market sales I made yesterday, I spent around 40 minutes doing some 'farm' missions in AE on a solo character, it is EASILY possible for anybody to do this, and it involves extremely little risk, time or effort -- unlike the Kora missions

That's 231,000,000 inf from sales of IO's earnt with no exploits and within the standard game mechanics, in around 40 mins - 1 hour of work

Now is a screenshot of a few large inspirations and their selling price;

I do not believe it is a risk putting Kora missions back to their original state and giving large inspirations because of this. The rewards for doing Kora missions is extremely small in comparison to what players are able to do if they wanted to 'farm'.

This change no longer applys to the state of the game.

Conclusion

Fire Base Zulu is a forgotten zone, PLEASE developers, let these missions provide large inspirations again. The missions' significant challenge, risk and time required more than warrant large inspirations to be given.

Players will always have better options to farm influence rather selling a couple of large inspirations on the market, Kora missions used to be a great part of my gaming style, I found the missions fun, in an amazing zone with good rewards

Fire Base Zulu is an amazing place, along with the Storm Palace / Chantry etc, they are zones which really show off the creative side of the developers and are inspiring -- Please give respect back to the zone with this small change

Thankyou for your time reading players, developers

I think this is simply something that the devs forgot about.
As always they're focusing on their new shiny powersets, taskforces etc. etc. and they forget their old masterworks. Almost noone visits the shadow shard nowadays except for getting the gorgeous rularuu weapons, even if this may not populate the zone further, it is a trivial thing that could easily be put back in.

My understanding (probably wrong) was that it was removed because there was no way for Villains to earn large inspirations except through random drops and that it was unfair to give Heroes that advantage alone.

But considering that i18 and GR will be adding side-switching, a global market, and the ability to just email the stuff around there seems little reason for Villains to be left out anymore.

Might as well bring them back now. They sell for 100 AE Tickets, and that's pretty trivial to earn compared to these missions.

I realize this is a slightly old thread, but better to resurrect an old (and short) one than to start a new one.

I think that given the tech the devs have developed that allows non-tradeable items, they should go ahead and make the Kora max-size again, but untradeable. (And any insps you combine them into, such as rezzes, similarly untradeable.) That would let people who want to run the missions for the goodies do so, but prevent them from being able to pass them off to others--they have to use them themselves.

I think it's a great compromise idea.

Not according to the forum rules and the moderators.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Funny thing is I have one of these missions that I've been hanging onto for quite some time... About when day jobs came out, I think, because I used to use the mission teleporter with it to log out in the shard for the day job there.

After Issue 21, now my Kora fruit mission is in the back of a van... in Atlas Park...

Not quite as buggy as radio missions get across issue -- still the same cave, but at the wrong door. Just one of those things I guess.

Given that every time I start a new thread, I get told, "We've got a thread for that already!" it seems like I can't win. :P
