Why would they need firemen and trucks when they have super heroes that do it for them with less risk. Whenever a fire breaks out every hero receives a general "[FDPC] Fire Alarm sounded in Steel Canyon." message. It's a general alert calling all available heroes to assist.

Why should they bother with ambulances when the Emergency Medical Teleport system transports injured people directly to the hospital.

And yet I can log on 24 hours a day and find heroes using the search feature. And that's just the ones run by players. The NPC heroes are always there.

News flash. This isn't Batman. This is Paragon City. A world where Heroes have been nationalized by the government.

Since you like referencing what comic book heroes do. Superman put out fires all the time.

I wouldn't mind seeing some fire trucks or Ambulances rushing through the steet (does everyone have the auto-teleport? Or just heroes?) A fire house i think would be the most needed. And maybe have some NPC firemen at the fire that don't actually help put the fire out but look like they're helping (police at troll rave)

NPC's are invincible. So they're cool in that department.

This is not your real-world's Rhode Island. This one is entirely fictional and "we" can do whatever we want with it.

This suggestion sort of goes along with the "All things art: Architecture" thread much better but I say ignore the snark responses. There is nothing wrong with wanting to see the cityscape of Paragon continuously improved to at least partly mimic real-world major US cities. That can certainly include professional sports stadiums complete with fictional teams for major American sports. I don't think the pvp arenas count. They don't quite have the look or feel that dedicated sports stadiums convey. Football, soccer, and baseball stadiums are all frequently open-air stadiums anyway.

Even if we didn't have professional sports stadiums EVERY city is going to have football, soccer, and baseball fields in addition to basketball courts, tennis courts and gymnasium buildings that are going to be near parks or high schools and universities. When you fly/jump/bleem/zip around the city it is the ABSENCE of these kinds of places that begin to make it feel not-quite-right, even if it is an enclosed security zone walled off from the rest of the city. Little details like occasionally seeing a movie marquee advertising a movie OTHER than Fractured Dawn starring Blue Steel, a sign for a hotel OTHER than the Geneva, a larger variety in skyscraper and apartment block designs, a variety in bridge, causeway and elevated roadway designs...

This is all stuff that ADDS to the game, makes it feel more like a real place where your characters live. It doesn't have to make you stop and go, "Ooh! Ahh!" when you first see it, you don't need to even be consciously registering that you're whizzing by another basketball court or fast-food drive-thru but NEVER seeing one detracts from the feel of the game zones as part of an actual city. Where ARE the drive-thrus, the delis, the Martinizing cleaners, gas stations, restaurants and RETAIL centers? Where's the heavy or actually backed-up traffic in Skyway City? Why doesn't traffic increase the way pedestrian traffic increases at certain "times of the day"? You may not NEED this kind of stuff to play CoX but the overall experience can definitely be improved by adding more of that kind of detail.

This is baselly every thing i think - it not the use in game just the look - i want not only to play the game but when i play i want to turn off the world i live in for a few hours and jump in to the wolud of the heroe i playing -

Actually, I disagree. There are plenty of Fire Hydrants around. I should know, seeing that I've busted up quite a few of them in my time...at least 25 on my high level villains.

You do realize the city in question is just one step above a war zone, right? Me, I'm still somewhat surprised there are civilians left at all, let alone traffic.

Dec out.

Put them in client-side only, make them optional.

Yeah - go with that - make NPC and diffrent type of build looks user side contral then a dumb computer can run with no issuse and a super set can run with a full city

the "war zone in question is in a 2nd demionsion not on the same soil the NPC are living on ....... notice how the ammount of npc declines the closer you get yo the gate of RWZ or edan ...ect"

Yeah, because making several different versions of things everywhere...no sweat at all for the devs. Should be done by next weekend.

Non-sarcastic version: That'd be way way too much work for the devs for little return.

You know, I always ignore those messages. Kind of figure the fire department can take care of that.

Enjoy your day please.

WARNING: SARCASM LEVELS ARE RISING!
Yeah guess what? I AM that "fire department" who takes care of that. Would it kill ya to at least knock some Hellions around while I'm putting out those flames? COME ON MAN! It's hard out there. I got Hellions throwing mollies at me, I have the fire to put out, I'm not a fireproof hero. I'm a mutant. A Metahuman. Based around strength, flight and invulnerablity. I can survive a bullet to the face sure, but ya know fire is all...hot...and uncomfortable. So...yeah...help out once in a while....jerk. Making me do all the work.

I support anything involving making Paragon City look more like an actual city.

I'm glad to see that you don't understand what we're talking about.

Non-sarcastic version: Only one software version involved. Only one to develop. I'm a software developer and do have a clue what I'm talking about.
