But I'm looking to run the Cavern of Transcendence. Not ghost it, I want to actually run it. Yes, I realize that the time limit will make it tricky at best, but it's just something that I've never done, and I'd like to at least say I've tried it.

And as I type this, I realize that Badge already tried something similar with the Eden Trial.

Whatever the case, I'll be gathering Heroes brave or foolish enough to join me in this attempt this Saturday, August 14th around 8PM Eastern. If we don't have enough folks to start, we may try to put together a Posi run instead.

Worst case scenario, we don't finish, but we still get the rewards for an hour and a half of running missions on a full team. Heck, for some they'll be able to work on the Troll, CoT and Igneous boss badges, and that last one is pretty tough unless you're level 50 and dedicated.

Running a CoT without ghosting isn't that hard within the time limit. I would suggest scouting out the caves beforehand, but the actual map is small once you get to it and there aren't that many mobs. As long as you stick together on the way to the door (lead by someone who knows how to get there) and stay organized while you're clearing, and don't click on the big door until everyone's ready, you should be good to go.

I've got the map of the Tunnels cleared (Thank you Reveal) and from what I hear the map is the same one as the final mission of the Cap au Diable trial, so that shouldn't be too much trouble. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing if that's the case.

I want to be perfectly clear on one point, however. I am fully aware that the majority of the player base of this game thinks that this is impossible. I knew that when I put the thread together. I still want to try anyway, regardless of the odds.

Now, for those that are interested, go ahead and bring characters that need the badge. There's always the off change that we may beat fate and snatch the Golden Fleece, but that's not the main goal in this. It's the icing on the cake of a good long teaming session. And there will be some tasty badge sprinkles along the way.

But we are Protector, we are the crazy ones. We are the people who hear only a challenge in the words "it can't be done". Well, I'm telling all of you, that this can't be done, so who's going to prove me wrong?

Ah, MI, I don't think it's impossible. I've done it "straight" before... just... not really all that fun.

With a good team (one that listens and sticks together) I don't think you should have much trouble.

While I know everyone hates 'T3h h34l0r" this is the level range where that sort of thing really shines since the mitigatory powers of other defenders and your team mates probably isn't very well developed yet. An Empath or/and a Kin can really help out with the mission. Someone who can up the team's fire resistance is also very effective here, since the Igneous are pretty good at shrugging off control abilities at this level and can swarm a group pretty quickly with their high movement and plethora of ranged abilities.

Going through the Troll Caverns really isn't too difficult, and if you take advantage of the explosives they carry with them you can easily blaze through it. This means you will want some ranged characters, and probably a tank to taunt off the survivors so they don't nail the blaster for his shenanigans. I don't even usually have the area mapped out and can usually figure out where to go with the map marker and keeping my map open to see where we have already been.

The lava part really requires your team to stay together, and if you got someone who can put up fire armor you will really shine in this place. Many of the enemies like to hide in the lava so it's very important that you travel through each of the tunnels, as a team, clearing them out without leaving anyone at the obelisks until the entire area is secure. Because it's such a long way back, a few deaths are often impossible to recover from and it's a really good idea that your team be sporting self rez inspirations. The most important things to do are to stay together and let the Igneous come to you. So long as you can keep from getting swarmed you should do fine.

Finally, don't get paranoid about how much time you have left to complete the TF, as this, in my experience, is the key to why most people have such a hard time with this TF.

I'm glad to see some enthusiasm about this. Fair warning though, depending on sheduling, there's a possibility that this may need to be pushed back two weeks. I will let everyone know if that is the case, but until then we will go ahead as planned.

Just so everyone knows, I'm planning on bringing my Fire/NRG Blaster to this. He has the Trial unlocked, but is only level 15, so he'll be packing DOs, and no 'extra powers' from exemping.

MI - I have Le Femme Onyx (33 Stone/Stone tank) parked in the tunnels. I went through my alts & she didn't have this yet. The others that don't are my PB & WS ... & I don't think the added possibility of cysts showing up would be a good thing . Let me know if you'd rather have: Emp/Ele def, Grav/Rad 'troller, FF/Rad def, ill/Storm 'troller, the PB or WS. All are at least level 22 - save the WS, she's 17. Just leave a message here or PM me in game

If needed, I can bring the Old Man himself, Demon Hunter to throw heals. He hasn't been respec'd in a while, but can certainly stand one; I can retool him specifically for this scenario

It looks like I'm going to have to postpone this for two weeks. So get those characters ready, we're going to try this on Augusy 14.

I always prefer to run through all the tf's and kill everything, but usually the teams I'm in would rather ghost them or speed run, which is also fun. Personally I'd like to see the devs add a feature/option... (and badge requirement) where the tf's are defeat all.
