So....Stamina

I have a plant/storm troller. Fun combo isn't it. Also chews through your endurance bar fast huh. The trick is recovery bonuses aren't going to mean as much as max end bonuses will. Your base recovery is a percentage of your maximum. If your maximum increases so does your base. Recovery bonuses affect the base recovery so by increasing your max you benifit more from stamina and your recovery bonuses. One of the best sets I can recomend if you have a place for it is entropic chaos. Its a ranged damage set lvl 20-35 and its 4th and 5th set bonuses are +2.25% max end and 6.25% recharge. Theres also Decimation but I like Entropic Chaos more because it has a heal proc and its cheaper.

Now the way that powers cost Endurance, and the recovery you get as base... pretty much means that Fitness Pool is already picked for you whether you like it or not.

But what happens when this isn't enough?? What else can we do...

Does anyone know where you can get more blue bar from?
So far I am running a high recharge stormie with a few toggles and this is what I have so far.

Atlas Medallion +5% max end
Portal Jockey +5% max end
Fully slottted stamina
IO set bonuses
Including Numi + Miracle Procs +35.5% recovery (total bonus)

So at the moment I am looking at 211% (3.88/s) and I am still struggling.

Is there any where else I can get more recovery?
If you haven't already, slot some Endurance Reduction Enhancements into powers that cost more than 10 endurance to use and all your toggle powers. They key for keeping your endurance bar happy as a Stormy isn't so much about recovery but more about endurance reduction.

Storm is a very end-heavy set. Starting with just your O2 Boost alone, that's 13 endurance per activation already and O2 Boost's base recharge is just 4 seconds...if you spam that heal you will use up a lot of endurance. If you have this power I suggest slotting it with 1 or 2 end-reduction.

> Snow Storm and Steamy Mist both cost .52 endurance per sec while Hurricane costs a whopping .65 end per sec. If you have these 3 toggles on without any endurance reduction, that's a HUGE 1.69 endurance per sec. Slotting all 3 of these toggles with 2 end-reduction each will bring the total down to .91 endurance per sec, which is a big help.

> As for the other 3 click powers in Storm, Freezing Rain @ 18.2 endurance, Tornado at 20.8 endurance and Lightning Storm at 31.2 endurance...well you do the math.

As you can see, it doesn't matter how much recovery you have, if you have all 3 toggles on AND you put out Freezing Rain, Tornado and Lightning Storm, your endurance bar is going to be empty in no time.

Of course, extra recovery will definitely help, but think about slotting for endurance reduction first if you haven't already.

Heh, nothing wrong with any of that. I'm going to look over my fire/storm build (crazy crazy end hog) during lunch and compare and give you my thoughts after I've gone over both. I already have a few things I've noticed, but I'll wait until I can consolidate it all down to one post.

On current build I have...

Steamy mist 0.26
Fly 0.52
Combat Jumping 0.07
Snow Storm 0.28

Hurricane is situational and won't be used very often.

Freezing Rain 15
Tornado 16.4
Lightning Storm 17

So power wise it's pretty good, going for overall recovery was to combat the massive recharge...

Gonna be fun tho, can't wait to hit GR and all the redside SF's.

Nophase disagrees with you. There is a 90 second period after using a phase power before you can use it again.

It is also a good idea to slot an endurance reducer into your fastest recharging powers. If you look at the specs, you may see that some will use up more endurance in the same amount of time that your heavier cost powers take.

Load your build into Mids, then go to the Window -> Power Graphs option. In that window, first switch the first dropdown to "Powers Taken" and then switch the second dropdown to "End / Sec". This makes it show how much a power would use if you cycled it endlessly. Put more endurance reduction in the biggest offenders.

Second, switch the second dropdown to "End Use", and if any of those look like they're using too much for one use, put more endrdx in (anything over 20 end is hugely excessive and needs endrdx PRONTO...anything over 10 end should get a second thought for more endrdx).

In the end, you have to choose between "using too much endurance but mega awesome recharge" and "hey, at least I'm not sucking wind after every fight".

I don't think this is true. In my experience, if you've got true perma-hasten (ie. you reactivate it before it wears off), you don't get a crash.

I know this was the case pre-ED, but if I'm not mistaken, I believe it was adjusted (as was SS's Rage) some time after IOs were added.

Nope. You get a hasten crash more often if you fire of hasten more often.

Not noticed the hasten crashes as much, i'll look out for it tho see if that's causing the problem.

When I mentioned the fact it's not a pvp build I was referring to Frosticus' build rather than the phase thing...

btw, what is the phase thing about?? didn't catch that really, do you mean that hiber doesn't start recharging til after it's deactivated?

Not sure this has been mentioned but if you get the Duelist badge, you can get the Expert Duelist day job reward of +6 to your maximum endurance - coupled with the Gladiator Accolade reward of Combat Shield - not a bad locale to log.

Actually with Hibernate you can turn it on again, you just don't get the "Unaffected" portion of the phase power.

So for Hibernate:
First use: +regen/+recovery, Only Affecting Self, Unaffected
within 90 seconds: +regen/+recovery, Only Affecting Self

Edit: This really applies to all Phase toggles, you can turn them on again during the no phase period you just don't get the "Unaffected" aspect of the power.

Looks like Roots is your biggest end drainer. If you are spamming it, that's the biggest problem. I'd advice not firing as soon as it's up, rather wait till it wears off (almost a minute later). If you are using it for the -KB, though, you'll need to fire it every 10s, since the -kb lasts 12s and the power's activation time is 1.67s. Still, that'll really reduce your endurance usage, assuming spamming it is what's causing your issues in the first place. The other big hitter to your blue bar is Strangler. If you are spamming that (which I don't see why you would, considering it's damage isn't enhanced and it's hold duration is more than long enough) it'll drain your end. Hold off on firing it as long as you can and you'll be much happier.

The build I posted is decidedly not for pvp. It makes use of the pvp IO hold set because it is the best hold set for endurance hungry builds that still want solid global rech, but utilizing some pvp IO's when you specifically said "only the best for me" is a far cry from it being a "pvp" build.
