Merits or the AE? That 'tis the question.

I was farming Warwolves before I was farming Bane Spider Executioners.

Like I said, I need to keep things interesting.

But do you farm Vanguard Rebels on Gaussian's Arc? To me, that is the ultimate in masochistic farming. Warwolves comes close.

What's not to like about them? As stated only the shamans are at all difficult but they only have lieut hit points. It's not like they're bosses. The zombies themselves are vulnerable to several types of damage (especially the mentioned lethal) that many farmed enemies are not, and their guns are so pathetic that you don't even need ranged defence to handle them in large numbers.

Tickets are a side effect, but because of this I discovered what you guys have been talking about all along. Previously I would get burned over and over on merits, and thus changed to just buying LotG7.5s instead.

BTW, try that. It's very fun. Oddly enough, I suggested it with a medium low level team and we wiped horribly.

I run it +0/x8.
Ill try it

Wow, I don't think Gavin is the unusual one here.

You don't like BP, who are like wheat before a combine harvester to most characters, but you "kinda dig CoT"? That's like "I hate Council/Freakshow but I kinda dig Malta/Knives".

I think which is better (merits or AE) will largely depend on your playtime. Goat's method is sound for those with very limited playtime while those with more can really make headway with merits. I always use a 4 to 1 ratio to determine which to do on any given play session. Meaning, if I can do 4 (or more) TFs, I'll go with merits. Otherwise, it's tickets.

CoT at 50 are pretty much a joke, and don't throw unresistable def debuffs and Hurricanes at you. If you're melee you may well be better off with them than BP.

Then again I fight Malta all the time, so I'm probably just weird. If Rularuu didn't completely negate my defense I'd fight them too.

Tried the AE farm compared to the peregrine one, same map, same mobs, so same time to do it. It sure is effective but how boring. In 2 hours i can fill up 2 or 3 characters with stuff to sell, and i spend more time sorting that mess and crafting than farming.

I've spent thousands of tickets on 35-39 bronze rolls and have gotten straight crap.

My lethal-capped Fire/WP went at 'em late last night. Figured it would be nice to pursue Van Merits, a good basket of Reward Merits and Purples at the same time. Dialed it down from to +1/x8 to 0/x4 and still got humbled

Some people solo AVs, Frosticus is trying to find a way to take out a rikti pylon in less than a minute (down to 1.50). One day, I will find a melee build that can take these guys at +2/x8 solo.

They are wicked. But fun.

blue side the least I've made off a 'run' of 1500 tickets is 50 million, crafting the good stuff for impatient buyers. With drop weighting favoring saleable sets it's pretty much guaranteed you'll get a couple of winners amongst the 20-odd rolls generated by a ticket capped map.

red side is a tougher sell, especially now with the merger looming. But you'll still get several winners per round, even if crafting doesn't generate quite the same windfall.
