RP spots?

I must say that for once it seems everyone is in agreement on a subject. :P Wish it could/would happen more often. Anyway.... like the others stated, RP can be found pretty much anywhere, athough sometimes it can be hard to tell whether or not a person is being IC or OOC while walking around. I for one have a DS/MM that I RP with frequently. While on this char I'm sometimes IC and sometimes OOC. I put in her bio the way to tell the difference though.

If she's walking around with one of her demons following her..she's IC. No demon means OOC. Yeah, yeah.. I know, some people get annoyed by MMs running around in the D with their pets out, but I always use one of the quite little ones, and try my best to keep him out of pple's way. Someone complains.. I bring em all out, which is also stated in the bio.

The D can be a good place to find decent RP, like one person said.. just check a toon's bio for RP info such as convo starters, ice breakers, all kinds of tidbits that can help you get some RP started.. or find out if the person even RPs at all. Don't give up bud..you'll find what you're looking for.

The two characters were talking about something like watching over people that needed help. Serious-ish, non-goofy stuff. I was on Lord Agonus at the time, in a black business suit and the white mask in my forum avatar. Aggie is also a serious-ish character.

I tried to get a conversation going about the various ways of dealing with the common man. The other two characters were having none of it.
Then I am at a lose. *nod*

Eh. Still. If it was purely IC, I wouldn't count that off as them being unfriendly/rude/etc. Surely I wouldn't mind if I got someone joining my public RP. But not all my characters would randomly greet yours all friendly-like and invite you to a cup of warm tea, some delicious biscuits, and a debate over morality. RP is RP. Telling a character to "gtfo" is also RP, and the scene can even be amusing or fun to the participants if done properly.

If what was "said was actually GTFO, and not Get The F*** Out, then I can completely understand why a person would assume it was typed in a OOC context. Yes.. even though alot of the stupid people in the world have actually started saying things like omg, and wtf in RL instead of using actual words in their speech, Not all of us have fallen quite /that/ far down the ladder yet. Maybe they were being OOC, maybe they were being IC, but most of the intelligent people I've met would consider GTFO as being OOC "text" speak. But hey.. maybe I'm just old and don't understand those young and dumb whipper snappers out there.

Not only that but "Get the **** out", "Get lost", or "We don't want to talk to you" and other similar statements indicate that the person probably really doesn't want you around to chat, whether they do it IC or not.

My only advice to the OP is to join an RP supergroup. Even, if the theme and storylines they follow aren't that interesting to you at first or if they don't quite fit you toon's style and background you can get into it very quickly in an SG. That way the RP spots are everywhere you go and not just under Atlas where the conversations are almost always between characters that talk like they just walked out of a D&D dungeon or Middle Earth. Seriously people, the game takes place in 21st Century Rhode Island.

Anyway just a random defend some vampire RPers, some of us still go for the more monster version of vampires and some do try to be more inventive....anyway moving on...

What I ahve seen of virtue is RP can pretty much spring up anywhere, Atlas, PD, even Mercy island, pretty much if you let it be known you RP and are RPing others seem to eventually join in. Like I said though just been rather brief experiances on my part.
hey hey now, I recall sometime last year there was an SG called "The Fallen" that were a group of vampires whose leader was originally from a different planet, they were a bit more on the human/demonic side, but if I recall they had a solid story and were amazing group RPers....I kinda miss them.

I remember they used to have public disputes with one of the lycan packs.

The only problem with SGs/VGs is this... yeah it provides a person with a possible constant source of RP, but retention in a group is damn near impossible. I have started a SG and a VG on Virtue, along with two SGs on Freedom. The Freedom SGs, while I was still playing on that server seemed much more active than the groups here on Virtue.

I'm not trying to say one server is better than another, but on Virtue, players have so many alts that hell.. there's a good chance some RP might start in the SG on a Monday night, carry on through /that/ night..and then just come to a halt in the middle of the "story" and not pick up again until the middle of next week. Simply because of the amount of alts people have and play. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I'm just saying that with everyone telling the OP to go join a RPSG/VG, maybe someone should let him know that doing so will not necessarily solve his problem, but is a good chance to form connections with other chars and their players

I have to say that Pocket D isn't nearly that bad. You need to sometimes work for your RP. Find a reason to approach someone and don't just stand in the corner all quiet. I've found plenty of good RP in Pocket D lately. Of course, the best way to get RP is by being in an SG. I have a few of them and I'm rarely ever bored in-game.

Just my two cents.
