This is the history of Marlin Culture that I made up-

Gabriel LongLeaf is an elf. Elves are part of a larger family of mystical creatures called Marlins, beings born of pure magic. They are of a larger world of races that exist to maintain balance and equilibrium in the world of magic. On the light side of magic, Marlins are born and invariably evolve into Elves, fairies, sprites, nymphs, fauns or angels. However, some Marlins, even from birth, choose to walk to the path of shadow and forsake the light. Eventually they end up either an imp, a goblin, a demon or a troll. These beings are not to be confused with those who manipulate their souls through use of magic, such as vampires, zombies and werewolves. And so far as fanatics like the circle of thorns and their creations, they are nothing more than witches who choose to abuse magic for the acquisition of power. They are corrupt and not considered part of the true magical world. Even demons and Goblins despise them, if you can believe it. But Marlins in general, light or dark (notice I did not say good or evil, because they are inherently neither) all have a common thirst for mischief. They are easily bored and are always interested in tampering with the goings on of others, as folklore has shown us. Though highly evolved in wisdom and sensibility, they are by no means a docile race. They crave action and adventure, excitement and grandeur. They cannot sit still, and most of them (though they relish the moment) are constantly on a path toward another state of being. A sprite may want to become a faun some day, or an imp may want to grow into a full demon. Sometimes they even cross from light to dark, and vice versa; though, rarely. When they reach a state that they are content to spend eternity in, they truly BECOME that entity. So once the nymph decides its meant to be a fairy, it will stay a fairy forever. Because of this, Marlins age incredibly slowly. If you’ve seen a Marlin with grey hair and a beard, hes probably ancient, in the literal sense; thousands of years old.
They reach our world through Orobouros, which is the nexus of all realities, apart from the time continuum. They come to our world to study us, and of course, to cause trouble (but then, often, they help to fix or repair whatever damage they cause- yes, even the demons… most of the time). It is through their interactions with us, and with the other alien races they play with, that they are judged by the Great Entity and ultimately given permission to evolve into their next state of being (or, to their final destination depending on your perspective). We can reach their world, but it is so complex and so different and alien that our minds could not perceive it in normal context. It is because of this, that when in their realm, we experience a “representation” of what their world is like. A metaphor. We are shown “it” in a way that our minds can comprehend, but it is no more than a mere representation of what actually is.
Though Marlins are typically playful, even the darker ones, they are a force to be reckoned with. If you’ve ever seen a fairy or a faun in battle, you know what I mean. They are powerful beings of magic, despite the physical appearance they adopt for our benefit while in our world. What role they will ultimately play in our lives has yet to be determined…

A goodbye letter from Alcide LeBeau:

Dear teammates:
I apologize for not being able to say goodbye in person, but this is what we signed up for and we all knew there would be consequences. I was doing some investigative work on my own to see if Essex and Smythe were at all connected with each other when I was knocked unconscious from behind. I remember nothing after that. When I woke up yesterday morning, laying bare on the sidewalk where they left me, I exploded and took out a city block with me. Seven people died. From the visions Ive been having, I have to assume that Essex did some more experimenting on me. My mutation is totally unlocked now, and Im essentially a walking bomb. If I so much as get a chill, I wind up unleashing powerful shockwaves of kinetic energy; a deadly, concussive force. My brother, and his “boss,” have been kind enough to pull some strings to get me into a top notch facility for the research of genetic mutation. Though, now, all I pray for is death. I heard a doctor throw around the word “euthanasia” a few hours ago, and it gave me goosebumps. What a relief death would be right now. Though Remy will fight it, if I can get Xavier to agree with me, Remy wont be able to do a damn thing about it. He doesn’t understand. I think Xavier does, hes a telepath so I imagine he can feel what Im feeling. If he has a decent bone in his body, he will let me go on to heaven or hell or whever Im meant to be. Im in so much pain. I cant be near people. I cant “be”. This is not a life. And Im eager to see it’s passing. I value you all, and thank you for your support throughout this madness. Take it easy on Remy if he shows up to collect my things. Hes in a lot of pain and is having trouble accepting whats happening. If Im ever fixed, and released, I will contact you. But if not, I hope you can let me go and pray for me to rest in peace. Thank you my friends; it was an extreme honor to fight with such noble and brave people. Be well.

Phoenix, I think It will be great to have you a full time part of SG again.. We all understand RL comes first and that many things are unpredictable in life so one never knows may may come up at last minuet. I think your new character will work fine within our group seeing how we are all searching for something..(toon wise) You are a fun player and a good friend as are the rest of the guys in the SG. I think from taking this idea from a small pebble it started out to be and turning it into this huge boulder we have all done very well. I am glad to be a part of it.
This whole campaign has been a wonderful trip so far and can only get better as our characters advance in lvl and powers.

Also your Bio is very well wrote and reads beautifully. well done on the wonderful idea I think it really does sounds interesting and will be enjoyable to see what may come of your elf joining us. I look forward to Thursday. Sound's like we shall have a very eventful evening.
As for loosing Lebeau I know Myra will be saddened to hear he is gone, he was a good friend and will be missed. (But hey we all understand how it can be with toons sometimes)
On a side note..... Thank you all for the wonderful work on the SG and many thanks to those who keep it running. You guys are great! I must thank Wylde and Dire for taking up the "healing" of our group too I know Nyrissa is gone for now but I promise there is a good reason behind it all and will be explained soon. Thank you for putting up with it... Take care all and see you on Thursday!

Thanks! I know it was a lot of info, and very longwinded, but it was a long time coming. :-) You guys have an awesome team here, and Im anxious to start really getting involved, at least more so than I have been.

LeBeau, though I'll miss ya, don't give up hope. Magic can cure anything, it's just mustering the effort necessary to look through the right books. Tell Azuria to stop standing around and start mustering! (Also, a plug for demon-chicken soup, man. Get a hold of some, it'll cure anything! Though it may put unwanted hair on you chest - or these really nasty terrifyingly huge suckered tentacles, it's sort of a grab bag there. But it tastes good, so there's that.)

Gabs, welcome man. Sounds like you know your magic stuff. (Apart from the whole skinning alive fettish ya seem to have) You must know how to bake up a pretty tasty cookie. I like the chocolaty caramal ones, so make sure you bring a batch with ya. (Oh, I've always wanted to know, Gabs, how tiny are the urinal cakes in that tiny bathroom in that cookie tree? Laughably tiny I'm thinking.) Hanging out with us will put you in a whole new league, for certain, and I'm not talking baseball. You're not hitchiking anymore, you're RIDING! And as long as you keep your fairy dust on the opposite side of the table, I'm sure we'll get along great.

Now where was I? Ooh! A new shipment of Cigars imported from [REMOVED BY SOLOMON FOUNDATION CENSORS]. Sweet!

It is great to hear of your "re-birth" as it were, Nick! I am excited to meet your new character and integrate him into the team. With luck, he will be able to join us for the arc in which we finally are able to get a little payback rolling in to those who have wronged us along the way... and have a chance to maybe introduce a new charac— oh wait, I can't tell you that yet, it's a secret. Shhhhhh!

Also I want to thank Nyrissa for getting this fantastic ball rolling and helping us to start having as much fun as we all have been having. I can't imagine a better group to do my first (successful) RP SG with!

On a mostly unrelated note, I think we should take a few minutes just before we run the AE mission this Thursday (don't worry about being a touch late Ny, it's cool) to meet up in Icon and make sure we all have the new looks taken care of. I can be a bit OCD when it comes to things like that, so I apologize in advance if I nitpick.

Oh! And I think Phoenix/Nick has a great idea that we take the time to meet up in the base for a bit of "pre-game RP" to set the stage for the evening. I think the most fun I have had is when we have had a chance to do a meeting like with Amira the one evening or when some real character driven stuff happens.

Hey, thanks for letting me scrap and pull a "do-over", u guys are awesome. And hilarious (Ill try to keep my fairy dust on my side of the table, but then Im not sharing any of my rare elf cigars. Thats right, you heard right, ELF CIGARS. Imported from the Keebler tree. They are life changing.) ;-) Im anxious for you guys to meet Gabe, Im pretty proud of him.

And Im all for meeting at icon. I incorporated an "elvin" tunic into my uniform to make it unique, but the rest of the uniform is all in line with the original parameters. Im all for streamlining. Plus, I have issues with being addicted to icon, lol, so Im always down for tweaking costumes. :-)

And Im anxious to see what happens in this next arc! Thursday sounds like its gonna be pretty raw, I cant wait to do it.

With moving and being in school (Im one of those jerks whos obsessed with a 4.0 gpa so I spend a massive amt of time studying), Ive been less than consistent with this and I apologize. I also really appreciate your patience, and am thankful you haven’t kicked me to the curb by now. That said, Im starting over in a sense, and I need to catch everyone up.
No worries! I totally understand that school and real life comes first! That being said, I am going to admit that I am glad to see a non marvel character taking LeBeau's place; I think it will work with the flow of the SG much better and allow you a lot more creative liberty! I haven't read your new info yet, but I am looking forward to reading it, and regardless of how much you participate you are still a welcome member of the group!

Just remember, Gabs, that there is a necessary transfer of material goods to seal your membership within our group and said material goods are measured in shots and that's the 2-fingered variety and not the kinetic impact variety.

BAM! Run-on over-conjunctivication!

Send me a requisition form and I'll be sure to get those shots lined up. (why the heck isnt there an emote for taking a shot?? Like heroes dont booze it up? Please.)

Well there's an emote for "stagger around like you're totally scnhockered(TM)" That's good enough for me.

On an unrelated note, I hear two fingers of Jack is good for pink-eye.

Eye see what you did there.

Ha! We eat Elite Bosses for breakfast!

Just make sure to build them without attacks or defenses, and all is good. Oh, and make sure Amira has a TON of Health, for the lengthy beating she truly deserves.

So, on a different note, I was thinking. Paris, Brittany or Gaga? I've discounted Rosie already, I can't even do that to a plant.

It's Wylde. The inuendo must sink to a deep level of near-depravity.

Although .... Cecil Verde is funny.

I thought so. It is the name of the plant that grows to the right of our front door. We named the ones in our planters.

You could go the way of naming it after a plant's sexual organs: pistil and stamen.

I'm guessing that Brutus is the other Central Time Zoned plant outside your door?

Hi folks. I was really enjoying last night's session. There was some great storyline taking place, and wish I could've been there to the finish.

But I started missing nearly everything that was going on towards the end. It simply got to be too late for me and I started falling asleep on several occasions throughout the latter part of the night. I'm not really sure what took place in that last office building, and I don't really think I'll be able to trust Wylde's account of the night's events I remember rescuing Azuria and defeating Countess Crey, but I missed out on pretty much all of the dialogue. I spent much of my time waking up plastered against a wall with autorun activated.

I'm betting the conclusion of the night's events was fantastic just like the rest of it. I'm thinking I'll run through the arc with an alt to get a better understanding of what happened. Thanks for the fun!

What an awesome mission arc! Wylde feels liberated and free. FREEEEEE!!!!!! I only wish the fight with Amira could have lasted another ten to fifteen minutes. I think I only got one shot at her!

How about the conclusion to last night's events, huh? The final mission, Wow! I never imagined the sight of Bully wrestling the Hamidon to a standstill could be so exciting. And the way Nox and Lilly plastered Nemesis and his entire army of automatons ... just awesome. And that Keebler guy! Single-handedly halting an invasion from Praetoria and fighting off twelve legions of war walkers! (And that was with one hand as I remember, the other hand was holding that elfin-baked treat). I think my favorite, most exciting moment was when Sal calculated the value Pi to its last digit!! The way the Universe shook and all? And of course Wylde ascending to divine status was just the best. Bless you, my children.

To anyone that missed it, it was THE BEST MISSION EVER. Just wow!

But now I find myself alone in the mansion owned by the Solomon Foundation, that centuries-old family of stuffy-shirted stiffs that train my centuries-old family line in the ways of magic. My mentor has not only turned to the dark side, becoming corrupted by money and power, but ... the worst sin of all ... cheap Italian suits? Praetoreus! What has happened to my beloved stodgy, stuffy-shirted mentor?

Will the Foundation send someone new to continue my training? I *am* the last Wylde, unless there are a handful of my kids out there that I don't know about. (Note to self, see about a lawyer to cover possible paternity suits) Or will I be left to my own devices? Well, they're Pratz's devices but I'll claim default ownership of EVERYTHING .... hahah ...Hahahahh .... HAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Oooh, what's THIS thing do? (poof)

Looks like I'll be teaching myself from now on ...! Our team will be better off for it.

Looking forward to next time ... had a blast!

Yes... I think you are safer, Dire, just coming on back next week.

We are going to correct the issue with the Medics in the second to last mish and then re-order the arc so we can start with mish 4. No one else was in much of a state of awakeness, so we called it quits before the finale ourselves.

Tune in next week, for the exciting conclusion of: Finding Freedom.
