Either new zones or maybe flash to(s) for specific origins.

So either new zones or flash to(s) like flash backs in the obo but different, where there might be instanced zones. I'm suggesting this because I really like story lines.

Missions would have to do with specific origins, This could incorporate city of past lore or new lore.Yyes I know this can be done in AE - but I like the creativity of the past/current official City of V/H mission writer(s).

Examples: Magic Origin has to do with a magic story arc. Think orebanga (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) Or possibly banished pantheneon arc based in that creation lore. There's a lot of great past lore that sometimes only gets eluded to in CoH/CoV.

Tech/Science/Mutant Origin: I'm unsure which this would fall under, a specific Countess Crey arc. Positron creation arc. etc.

So it could be done a number of ways, needing a hero or villain of specific origin to start the missions, or just going with that not being needed in case of solo'ers. Or potentially if you are doing magic origin arcs you get a bonus for that mission arc. Or maybe a reward at the end that is the same but you have to play your specific origin to get it. Like if it's a mutant arc you have to be a mutant to get it but people on your team won't get if it they are not mutant, but then if you're magic you get it on the magic arcs but the non magic origins do not.

Toss in some badges for achieving a certain number of arcs in each origin mission arc, to make the badgers (ppl who collect badges not the furry creatures that live in burrows.) happy.

Random Suggestion not having to do with the above, but it could: Any arcs adding the W.I.S.D.O.M group lore to it. Mirror Spirit has a cool travel power and it would be great to see this on hero side. Or the whole group on hero side. Maybe a W.I.S.D.O.M tf even.

Zones, I don't see happening.

Storylines, contacts (and potential ambushes) though? I wouldn't mind seeing them get put in. Guaranteed you'll have something different happening with each origin. We have some signature groups tied to the specific origins, of course - and the arcs would be tied to their specific interest and "origin point of view" (avoiding some of the conflict with character-origin stories and concepts. Doesn't matter if you have, for instance, innate magic, magic charms, or are a magically-empowered robot, you're tied to some interesting magic so the CoT are interested in *you.*)

Whether Khelds and VEATs are excepted from this would be up for debate - they are, after all, both tied to their origin *and* have backstory arcs they're tied to already (even if the VEAT one sucks so hard it puts Hoover to shame.)

I think origin specific stories would be pretty sweet. we don't have enough origin specific content in the game as it is, and there is plenty of space for it.

I probably would have created an AE arc about one of the origins, but every time i try to make an AE arc my ideas just dont conform with the tools we have, i guess thats just me being too ambitious =)

I'm not sure origin related zones would be good for the game.

I like the idea of origin related stories - but how would these work for team play as having members of the team with different origins would spoil the point surely? The idea that players would not get origin specific rewards would maybe not prove that popular. So if rewards are out, then perhaps the correct origin players gain some other slim advantage/disadvantage in these origin arcs.

I'd like to see enemy groups that are interested in you due to your origin, perhaps you are slightly stronger or weaker against them, thinking it through it makes sense to have military groups interested in Technology based origins, magic groups interested in magic, scientific groups would be interested in and mutants and naturals.

Instanced events would be interesting, for example a magic based GM threatens the city, it's only logical that magic based heroes would be best placed to defeat it.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the idea of more origin based stuff, it's just how would you implement it?

I like this idea, and more if it can be expanded. Origins dont have enough attention atm (minus the booster packs), stories are nice, but it doesnt bring home the feel of the origin.

As someone who thinks carefully about the orgin at the start (aka theme) and would like to have something i can feel at home in (also minus the bases).

Maybe making the zones orgin specific could help with the theme as well...Plus if we make them orgin specific not only could we have TF's/SF's where we get to invade another zone (NPC's Not pvp- tho if thats popluar people could get it in time- but tht needs a whole new thread about origin zone pvp).

As well we could make the origin specific zones a netural thing basically a Co-Op zone. (Thats an idea but havent thought much on this one tbh)

Night Hornet, no worries yet, it doesn't have to be one way or the other because it's just an idea floating around in the ether. So no spoiling has to happen. I was thinking more of introducing storyline/lore having to do with origins, It's like when you choose arcs to do as you level (assuming a player does it that way) You don't always get to play the same arcs with every character unless you choose to, but you still draw in members for a team unless you solo. So if you're a mutant one time you get a specific instanced mission/zone/flash to and your teamies are along for the ride, rinse repeat with magic origin etc. and I love the idea of the GMs you had. Also the groups interested in a player due to their origin is great too. and I wouldn't implement it No coding experience the developers would haha!

Dr HR I think about origin as well most generally when making a character, though after I realize wow this character seems to be more mutant then tech even though she uses weapons and has no robotics or things I associate with tech enhancement she is lvl 40 and no changing it! and are you thinking the techies with the help of giant robot temp powers invade the magic zone with CoT and rescue the magic crystal that was going to destroy paragon? Because you went way more into depth and detail than anything I was thinking.


Neon I started a magic origin arc that I should probably publish at some point just haven't gotten around to it. luckily now there's the baddies/GM I need in the AE for it!


Memphis Bill, yep contact and ambushes didn't even think of those are great ideas as well. and Yea Kheld's and VEATs missions like that. I liked doing my PB arc as far as I've gotten on it. Maybe even some new groups we haven't seen introduced, because a little refreshing of content is nice. However, I'm really into getting more of the past history into the game too, like I said there's so much great lore out there. Like wouldn't it be awesome to go back and see and fight alongside the people (heros,villains) who tried to stop the corrupt gods that brought about the Banished Pantheon? or Be there to witness Lord Recluse/Statesmans first encounter after drinking from the well or with a cut scene like a memory flash back of them at the well?
