PVP Caging
Sonic Cage, Dimenision Shift, Black Hole, Detention Field are all force phasing type powers i want to know if the devs ever plan on emplamenting a temparary grant [no phase] power on the effected target. With the Mezzes only lasting a base of 2 seconds i think that adding this effect will cause more people to roll these types of toons for pvp, due to the team dynamic. (that will show those pesky emps lol)

Just be honest, the only good way get people to roll cagers again, is to go back to I12 PvP. Srsly.
Anything else at this point might make them think about doing PvP 3.0. Would you really want that on your conscience ?
explain why you think its stupid, cause as it stands cages do nothing but put the match on pause for 2-4 seconds they dont really do anything helpful at all and since were are able to fight in phase it only makes since that you should be able to force people into phase. for instance a caged person should be attackable if the attacking person is in phase. And i dont think the should be able to jump rightinto phase or hibernate right after being caged.
i dont have any toons with caging abilities i just think that this was over looked
Alright look, back in I12...
Caging in team matches: Could get the emp(s) out of the way for a spike. Or you could cage the opponents damage for a few seconds reprieve.
Caging in 1v1s: allowed you to pop some greens, lay down an Ice Storm or something.
It was a tactical break. Since the Mez overhaul in I13 it doesn't do much of anything, so implementing new ideas to it just breaks it even more.
Besides the phase/attack mechanic is something else, let me put it in RP terms since they're simpler:
Caging is supposed to "remove a Character from the space time continuum" for a few seconds, during that time he cannot be affected by ANYTHING.
Phasing just "lets you enter a different dimension" into which your enemy can follow you if he also has the phase power.
i remember what the cages were used for back in i12 but i dont think that making cages completely useless was part of the Dev's plan rather than just overlooked

Cages aren't entirely ****** if you use a Troller, but 8 seconds is still pretty bad. Then again, I'd rather they fix the system but apparently it's working as intended so...

God knows we don't want people using sonics and bubblers again. It was mess up the 8 psi blasters +1 setup we got going on and that would be horrible.

there are cagers now they are called tanks and brutes..different power, same tactic different target...
when it was cagers you either caged dmg or support. In the end then like now you just ran your own cagers to counter act. cage the cager, taunt the taunter...if they are using the line up submission then you have a much better chance of getting in a team with no counter. Just means in i17 pvp you need to be good on multiple line ups and keep them guessing.
and borderline is right it is broke on trollers.
