Secondary Mutation and forms
I mean really, is my kheldian really going to break the game if secondary mutation works in Dwarf and Nova form? I would even be OK with it not being castable from forms, just human form, but at least carry over into Dwarf and Nova forms like Essence Boost and Conserve Energy work.
Color me disgruntled.
"All that crap is grey to me, no XP." - Positron 5/15/05 8:36am . . . The world stopped and silence ensued except for the sound of a crying infant off in the distance.
"Everyone needs to chill the hell out." - BackAlleyBrawler 11/13/08 3:26pm . . . Geeks around the world stopped and blinked.
Now, not being able to activate said temporary powers while shapeshifted makes sense, is this what was meant? I haven't bought the booster pack yet, has someone verified that the actual buff from Secondary Mutation is suppressed by shapeshifting?
Far be it from me to doubt Castle, but are we talking about the same thing here?

AllYourBase,
I retested it this morning just to be sure, the buff(s) granted from Secondary Mutation disappear when you activate either nova or dwarf form. They are only present in human form for kheldians.

Wow. That seems odd. The game is treating the click-buff like it was Stamina, then?

EDIT - yeah. I couldn't resist that.
The Scrappers' Guide to Dark Melee | Kheldian Binds and Strategies
If you PL'd to 50 just to get an "epic" thinking you'd be ber, you're going to be sorely disappointed with the HEATs, because the VEATs were designed so that anyone with one good finger and a braincell can rock the toggles.
I can confirm that the click buff Secondary Mutation power does NOT carry over into the forms. It does however reappear when you return to human form (ie. the buff isn't lost when you shapechange, just suppressed somehow). I suspect it has something to do with the rikti monkey form "buff", which locks you out of the forms for its duration. I hope this is not "working as intended", as until now all click buffs have carried over into the forms...
So we've proven that the click buff secondary mutation is not carrying over to the forms like every other click buff in the game including click buffs from the AT's human form?
Then Castle surely sees this as a bug and will be working toward a fix ASAP regardless of his post earlier.
Be well, people of CoH.
I agree, it doesn't make sense for one thing to not work with forms where all others do. None of the buffs are very over-powering by design, so...I really don't see any issue with it, unless it's a technical one. Which hasn't been mentioned.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Ice/Ice Blaster. Dedication to concept is an ugly thing.
Claws/WP Brute. Sex without the angst.
Every CoX character lies somewhere on this spectrum.
VEATS and HEATS are like apples and oranges really. Can't compare the two together when it comes down to an issue like this.

well this isn't a surprise.. i finally come back to the game after 2 years and the i13 fiasco just so i can get a lil break from CO and play my kheldians, and come to find out my pb blast cant change colors wow.. ok no worries at least this new booster pack will boost up my forms.. o wow well luckily i switched to all human..
Man FOR a very versatile AT you have to do a lot of conforming.. at least toggles don't drop anymore.

Consider for a moment if secondary mutation did not work for, say, a stone tank in granite form, but then worked for everyone else. That would be a bit odd wouldn't it?
I do not believe that those who are asking, are seeking any special treatment, simply equal treatment. We don't need to be able to use Secondary Mutation while in a form, but it would be nice if the power acted as every other self buff did and persisted through the various forms a Kheldian has at their disposal.
