I know these matches are fun. Way back in the day (before PvP changes) we used to have SG Arena nights and baby toons were always the first round. Then we would jump level ranges a few times till we were finishing with several rounds on our 50's....I miss the good old days.
Edit for a question...Are temp powers allowed or can we use nemesis staff, envenomed dagger, etc.??

If it turns out temp powers are being abused then I'll just disable them for future matches.
(Though, this does give me an idea for an all jet pack PvP match. Perhaps in a future version of the event we'll try that.

This Sunday will be Sprint only, but if I host another one of these I'll probably expand upon the initial idea of lowbies and add in some themes. They will be announced in advance so that people have a chance to grab jet packs or what have you.
Some other ideas I'm considering for themes are Scrappers only (i.e. dogpile PvP) and various costume themes.
We will see how this Sunday goes, and if we come up with some interesting ideas we'll give them a shot in the future.

Thanks for your feedback thus far, and if anyone has ideas let me know or PM me. Since we have other PvP events being hosted of a more structured nature, I'd like to keep this one more experimental.

I thought about showing up and destroying everyone's face with this in the first match but I'll be nice and tell you before the event. I believe Peacebringers and Warshades can get around the "No travel power" rule by using nova form. Plus with the inherent range bonus in nova form nobody would be able to hit a flying PB/WS. So you may want to not allow khelds (Or tell em they cant use nova)

Regardless, you bring up a good point regarding ATs that could have inherent advantages over other ATs. I don't want to disqualify any ATs based on theoretical advantages they might have. Instead of making a list of things that could be unfair, just bring what you think will be fun. Likely, it'll all even out given the level range we're playing in and the map selections (i.e. smaller maps).

Who
Anyone on Champion, hero or villain of any AT, who wants to strut their stuff even while at a low level! We will be setting matches to the level range of 6-11, however your toon does not have to actually be a lowbie. You may bring a level 50 and it will just adjust your level in the arena.
What
We will try to complete a minimum of 3 10 minute matches, including some of the following ideas:
- FFA in the Monkey Cage
- Teams in Atlas Park
- 'Capture the Flag', where the flag is a player that must be defeated (still working out the details with this idea)
These are just some examples of matches we could do. Ultimately we'll have to see how many people show up to decide what will work best. Further details will be given at the event.
*Note: Travel powers will be disabled, so vets with travel at level 6 will not be able to use it.*

Sunday, June 27th @7:30pm EST in Pocket D!
If this turns out to be something people enjoy doing, I may look into hosting something on a weekly basis.
Why
For laughs! I recently tried this with a few friends and it is hilarious. I also recall Ping doing something similar a while back. It doesn't matter if you're a PvPer or not, have a PvP build or not, it's just good fun!
