Verification speed
Verification will, largely, depend on the speed of your persistent storage (generally hard disk). I'm running on a slower laptop HD, and get around 35MB/s.
Traditional hard drives will likely run inside that range, but SSDs (Solid State Drives) will blow any HD away in performance (and price... not in a good way).

Hey! I have been wondering for quite a while how fast people verify the game when they open it up.
The best I ever got mine was 57.6MB/S What's you're best? |

320 GB, SATA 3 Gb/s, 16 MB Cache, 7200 RPM
If it makes any difference, I also keep the drive mostly empty and defragged.
Running the verification 3 more times, I got max speeds of about 55, 48, then 52.
Number 1 would be RPMs - the more turns per minute, the more that passes under the needle.
If kept relatively defraggemented, size would not matter too much (just how long it takes to find the files, and thus start verifying) but the more fragmented it is, the longer it will take to find all the files, thus lowering your Verification MBs/sec

My CoH is installed on this SSD.

Real Boss-50

i have super-high doubts that it is possible to hit 135!
EDIT: 330M/sec... But I got that on both solid state and disk drives, so there may be some screwy cache thing going on.

I walk away.

How did you manage that? I can't get better than 180 MB/s, despite verifying from a ramdisk.

On a Solid State (aka no moving parts/platter) Drive, it's possible. Probable, even.

It's really nice zoning too... I typically have 5-10 second zone times including the server lag.

A) It's from Aggelakis
B) Contains no relevant Links.

I was just making sure Gansta_Blade realized why it was possible

You guys are making me wish I had bought an SSD instead of a power supply to support my new (to me anyway) videocard. Of course, an SSD would have been at least twice the price of my power supply, so I guess that SSD will just have to wait the four months until my car payments are done.

edit: this was supposed to be edited into a multi-quote with the last post so I didn't double post but I ended up having the dumb and double posting instead. HURRAH!
