Help, I'm crashing in everything but safe mode
I'm actually having the same crashing issues... CoX ran fine and stable until earlier this week around Tuesday or so. I haven't made any system changes, and I don't think it's an overheating issue.
But it just seems to happen completely random, either when I enter a large battle, or just simple idling in Pocket D or Atlas Park.
I have 4 GB DDR2, a Geforce 9800 GT, and a dual core AMD Athleon 64x processor.
flashrains, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Then, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.
OverlordOutpost, please start your own thread detailing your problems and provide the logs from the programs listed above. The instructions for resolving flashrains problems may be different than yours, and it can get very confusing when giving instructions. Also, those trying to help can get confused with mulitple issues in the same thread.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.

First things first, update Windows Vista to Service Pack 2. You don't even have Service Pack 1 installed. Once you've updated to SP2 make sure that you install all updates from Windows Update.
I'd recommend setting an exception in Microsoft Security Essentials for your CoH installation directory. Open MSE, click the Setting tab, click the Excluded files and locations listing in the left column, click the Add button and point it to your CoH installation directory. Your installation directory is C:\Games\City of Heroes
If you are launching CoH through Steam, don't. Instead, use the CoH updater to launch the game. I've seen problems reported with people running it through Steam. They resolved it by uninstalling Steam and reinstalling the game from the download link on the Account page on the PlayNC site.
I've seen reports of a problem when a Pen is installed but don't recall what it is.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I don't? Funny, I could swear I installed that before I put Mass Effect on this machine. Guess I'll do it again. I am also not launching it through Steam. Where is Microsoft Security Essentials? I can't find it in my control panel.
Nope, you don't. That's why CoH Helper put your OS in yellow, since it's something that's needing updating.
MSE should be in your System Tray, you may need to click the arrow to see all the ones it can't load into the tray. Looks like a little green house or castle with a flag on top. You should be able to open it from Start > All Programs > Microsoft Security Essentials.

Alright, those changes have been made. Hopefully I will have fewer problems now...
You have a lot of stuff that runs in the background taking up valuable resources. These are programs that you can use when you need them, and don't need to 'on' all the time.
I'd turn off the ones here that I have highlighted for you.
There were a couple I didn't recognize, and you may need them. If not, I'd shut them down too.

The tablet problem? I seem to remember a problem with tablet drivers but I don't remember exactly what.

Well, updating Windows didn't help... I'll try turning those things off. How do I turn those things off?
Every time I'm on a large team, I crash as soon as I enter combat unless I am running in safe mode. Even minimum graphics doesn't help. I THINK my graphics card is an ATI, but I'm not sure - in any case, it's a powerful one; can run Mass Effect 2 at max settings, and I think (not sure, would have to ask my brother who plays it and gave me the card) it can handle Crysis pretty well too. What information must I provide in order to diagnose and fix this problem, and how do I find said information? I know next to nothing about omputers. I would ask my brother, who builds them, but he's gone off to camp.
EDIT: Actually it's a GeForce 8800 GT. Also, I'm running Vista 32-bit.
