Defender Fire Blast could be allowed to bypass positional tags on its T1 blast as a "freebie". It would be unique without directly increasing the total damage of the set. Unlike Blasters or Corruptors the Defender is losing a ton by not picking a blast set with high debuffs, so at least they could reliably hit enemies without Fire defense.
Defender probably won't have Pain Dom since Pain Dom IS the villain version of Emp, which Defender already have access to
I totally want Energy Aura for scrappers, so I can make a Kinetic Melee/Energy Aura scrapper for GR.

Besides, there's already several defender blast sets without debuffs (archery, AR, electric [and no, the end drain doesn't count], and energy), so it's not like fire would be unique. And unlike, say, electric, at least its secondary effect would be *useful*.

Eh, I dunno. A lot of times, the debuffs (aside from sonic's -res) just aren't really important most of the time. If you're in a situation where your primary is already providing enough mitigation, you don't really need your secondary to debuff their tohit or recharge or whatnot. I know that my dark/psi doesn't usually care much that his secondary does -recharge - everything is usually trembling in fear or debuffed into smithereens already.

but I think Oedipus_Tex was referring to the secondary effects moreso than "debuffs" specifically. For example, I consider the KB of Energy, the drain of Electric and the Holds, sleeps, Immobs etc... of all the blast sets part and parcel of "secondary effects". And they are much more valuable when solo, so very important to consider.
I would also like to see Fire Blast come to Defenders, and can only speculate why this has not happened yet. Would it be any good at Defender level damage ? I am doubtfull.
In order to help it out, I would think that some kind of damage boost would be in order, because Damage IS the secondary effect of Fire Blast. IMHO

I want an ice/ice scrapper or stalker since there is no Fury to worry about and that was one of the main reasons I saw that they don't want Ice Brutes.
I want shield defense for stalkers. I also want a new Shield Melee set, but that's another issue.
I think that people had an interesting point about Defenders getting melee secondaries. It seems like a cool idea to me. A healer/martial arts Defender immediately comes to mind. A healing warrior Monk or something.
I would love Trick Arrows or something suitable for blasters. I've wanted this since I made an Archery blaster a while back, but I want it less now that Archery is available for Corruptors. Still, some form of TA for blasters would be awesome.
