Deleting SG

So now I seem to be the leader of a defunct SG and I have no time to be recruiting (all members left have not logged in for at least 100 something days) and keeping up with it. It's a huge base but pretty empty. Maybe a salvage rack or two and has as of date, 1,777,632 prestige. I want to get rid of it by either "selling" it, deleting it, or just simply giving it away as the grand prize of a CC. But before deciding which action I want to take, would anyone know if I am able to delete the SG and if so, would I able to receive the prestige earned?

I think the only way to delete an SG is by turfing out all the people in it, and then quitting it yourself. And no, there is no way at all you can get any of the prestige out. It belongs to the SG.

I'm unsure of your motives here, are you wanting to take the prestige to another SG? Sorry, out of luck no matter what.

My suggestion would be to just quit the SG, leaving it for those members who are still there. They may come back for GR, who knows. 100 days isn't ALL that long really, it's still less that 4 months and I know I'd be pretty annoyed to come back and find someone had kicked me from my SG and then quit it so it no longer existed.

I don't think you should delete it or give it away UNLESS you were the original founder of it. Otherwise, just quit the thing and let whoever else logs on worry about it later.

Or, if you know who the founder of the sg is, and that person is still in it...you can kick everyone else, then quit so that only the founder is left.

Keep in mind, there is also a good chance that a kid formed it and school is just letting out, so they might be back.

Not really sure why you'd want to delete an SG, but you can't anyway. All you can do is make it so no one else can join it.

That is not actually true. To delete and release the name is very simple. Kick everyone out and then quit the SG goes poof.

Though, why do that, why not use it as a personal Storage and Transit hub? I've had that since a little before I7 when all the other members of my SG on Justice Quit for WoW.

Just because you don't have time to recruit and run an SG, doesn't mean you need to sell or delete it. You can keep it as your personal SG. Base upkeep costs are so low now, anyone can run a solo SG.

Having said that, if you need influence you can sell it. I bought a VG on my home server because someone happened to be selling one and I didn't feel like starting from scratch (and I liked the name).

If you do decide to sell it, post in your server forum about it.

We want details.

I thought about it, but then I'd have to make the time to put up teleporters, etc. I also don't play that specific toon as much.

As for the prestige, I was just wondering about it. Didn't want to lose all of that prestige for nothing. As for those in it, I checked again..it ranged from 150-364 days that others haven't logged in.

I'm still thinking about it. Maybe I'll give it till GR comes out and if no one other than myself has logged into it, then I'll make my decision then.

Please, as a player who was gone for 42 months, don't give away the SG. I started an SG, and when I returned, everything was pretty much how I left it, except I was no longer leader. The leader was someone who had been on 9 days ago - every other toon had not logged on for at least 200 days - some as long as 1000 or like myself, some toons hadn't logged in for over 1500 days.

Now, if I had kicked folks that hadn't played - I would have missed the return of another player who came back about 2 weeks after me. Essentially, my co-founder. He's never really done anything except play in SG mode, but there was never really anything to do except earn prestige.

I repeat - if you like to play with large teams, and you'd like to be a part of a large or small active SG, quit the SG and join another one. The ones who abandoned ship may return.

If you are determined to get rid of it, I'll give you 100 million influence for it.

I would rather make use of it then throw it away.
