Fairly new to Corruptors. Advice on Fire/Rad
Is it fun for you?
Let's be honest...that's what maters in the end, but yes fire/rad can be quite successful.

From my experience with corrs (50 ice/cold, 50 fire/rad, 50 son/kin, 50 dark/therm, and 30 DP/traps), corruptors are great all-around ATs. For me, fire/rad was an awesome combo that brought a lot for solo and teams. You really can't go wrong with those two sets since /rad is so nasty and fire just brings the damage you want to pair with it.
But _Krom_ hit the nail on the head in that is it fun? Toons like corruptors can be very frustrating in that some things like status effects can take the fun away from some players. Corruptors can do so much, but one hold or whatever can make things go bad very quickly. So if you are expecting to steamroll group after group without stopping like how some other ATs can, this may not be the AT for you.
(IME, I am sure there are corr's out there that steamroll, but consider those more specific builds rather than generic slotted builds.)
The pure DAM im outputting already is awesome and I dont miss the lack of mitigation as the mobs dying is mitigation enough
Im not using many of the /Rad powers apart from the heal unless I fight a boss when I then dump Radiation Infection on it
I am yet to team with her but I am having fun so will keep her and select the powers that I think Ill need based on experience - ie learn the old fashioned way
Cheers for pointing me back in the direction of why I play this game - cause its FUN
a fire/Dark is really fun... Debuff Pull + Tar Patch + Rain of Fire + Fire Ball + Fire Breath = Awesome Damage
fire\rad can pretty much steam roll over just about everything (just like fire\dark). They're pretty comparable.

Ive goe a Dark/SR Brute and a Dark/Dark Defender in the pipeline already so wanted something non-Dark.
Ive tried a Rad/Rad Corr before but only got to level 5 before I needed the slot for my first VEAT.
Fire/Rad is an awesome combo, great solo and teamed. Awesome ST and AoE damage, great buffs and debuffs and just fun as hell.

Fire/Rad was my 2nd Corruptor, namesake, and first to 50. And it was a blast the whole way up the pipe, something I don't get much anymore, certainly not from squishies. It solo's very well is an excellent asset to a team. Being a flexible build, I really don't have to sacrifice any soloing ability while still having room for Leadership and Mutate, which teams do love later on. My only regret is that I've yet to IO it for reasons unknown(It still has SO's) forgoing it for my Ice/Cold, which I've since stripped, shelved and transfered the infamy.
I intend to move my Fire/Rad to Blue once GR hits where I can afford and have a supply to give him all the bells and whistles he deserves
I put the fitness pool off until level 26 so that I could get the radiation powers earlier, and it made things much easier and made me feel much more useful. Use radiation infection, enervating field, and lingering radiation as much as possible, they are amazing powers, especially combined with accelerate metabolism's damage and recharge buff. This is what I did:
1. Fire Blast
1. Radiatiant Aura
2. Fireball
4. Accelerate Metabolism
6. Hasten
8. Combat Jumping
10. Enervating Field
12. Aim
14. Super Jump
16. Radiation Infection
18. Blaze
20. Lingering Radiation
Hasten and AM help your powers recharge quickly when you only have fire blast and fireball, but once you hit 20 you have the basic powers you'll use throughout the game and be able to kill quickly solo, and debuff the snot out of the enemy when on a team.
Hi all,
I am fairly inexperienced with ranged toons like Blasters and Corruptors but wanted to give something new a go.
I have never done a Fire offensive toon (did a db/fire scrapper AGES ago) before and /Rad seems good.
Im at level 8 now and while it is good so far Im having trouble trying to plan our a leveling build (10/20/30/40/50).
Can anyone tell me if these sets are a good match or if I should re-roll and start again.
Cheers
