the only one that would be ok for zone PvP is the thugs/dark but keep in mind that although you can survive a lot of dmg on this MM, it wont mean you can put out any offense nor can you be much of a help to you ur teammates. Also Anyone being attacked by you can run away and if ur lucky and they stay to fight, you might get a kill. If you want to help ur teammates on a /dark MM get the perception IO and slot it into tactics or focus accuracy, then get darkest night, slot some range in it and keep targets suppressed and from running away from your teammates.
If your gonna roll a new PvP toon ask here first and we'll give you some ideas before you start lvling.
Yeah, I figured I'd have to make a new PvP oriented toon. My three favorite ATs are Brute, Scrapper, and Mastermind. What would be some viable options for them?

something / regen scrapper
war and amys are both MA/Regen I think cobalts is Dark/regen.. Shawns is spines/regen .. i think he also has a BS/Regen..
so ya, clearly regen is a way to go.. the taunts they have on them are brutal too.
Hrm. I'm thinking either a Fire / Regen Scrapper, or a Demons / Storm Mastermind.

If you are new to PvP then yeah the best thing for you to start off with would be some kind of /regin scrapper or maybe a /wp stalker. Fire/Regin or Spines/Regin Scrappers are pretty popular and pretty PvP newb friendly, you almost have to walk away from your computer to die as a regin in a zone. Villian side I would suggest a stalker for the same reason, pretty survivable and new-to-PvP friendly toons.

If you want to play a zone MM with friends, thugs/Pain makes for a great mobile base. Get something like a thugs/traps and a few stalkers around you and you'll be a serious force in the zones.

For zone you'll prob want to go with a spines/regen/blaze scrapper, with barb swipe, impale, and two blaze attacks (Not fireball). For arena a fire or broadsword/regen will both be great with blaze or weapons mastery. (Not body since you dont really need as much perception in arena)

Well, apparently I made and leveled up my Electric Melee / Willpower Stalker for no reason, as Stalker Thunderstrike was just banned from arena PvP.
What would be other good Stalker primaries for arena PvP?

You can still AS and throw sharks...
It was banned in the freedom league but then unbanned on the test ladder so you could also argue it was working as intended....

noone can ban a power. its usually when something is "banned" that you should use it most.
if you want to try something not melee id recommend a pain corr, its been called the ranged regin.

Well, I had a look at the other Stalker primaries, and none of them really do it for me. I never could get into Spines, and Martial Arts' Crane Kick gets on my nerves with the knockback.
Someone recommended a Fire / Pain Corruptor, and another recommended an Electricity / Cold Corruptor, but I can't stand the lack of mez protection. 
My Dark Miasma / Dual Pistols Defender is still sitting at level 24, 'cause I'm sick of getting mezzed by every other mob I run into.
I'm told that both Brutes and Masterminds are pretty much a joke in PvP, so that leaves Scrappers as the only viable PvP AT that I enjoy playing, but I'm completely broke blue side.
Eh, it just doesn't look like PvP and I will ever get along. The one PvP oriented AT and powerset combo I could get into, is suddenly blocked from arena PvP. I'm better off just sticking with PvE. Thanks though, y'all.

I take my Elec/WP Stalker into RV plenty, the only place I actually do play against other players. You don't have to stick to the arena to throw sharks and AS, just bring a thick hide or turn broadcast off.

I've never leveled a character JUST to PvP with, I just brought whatever I happened to be playing and it's worked out great for me.
I've never felt the need to be ZOMGAWESOME in zones to have fun. Hell, I don't even need to WIN to have fun (which is a good thing with some of the builds I've brought into zones
) Just bring what you have, might surprise you with what some of the oddball builds can do.

I realize that I'd lose about 90% of the time, but I'd like to have a chance to win once in a while.
