Strange Error

I just installed the CoH Client, and when I clicked play, this came up:

Your card or driver doesn't support GL_ARB_texture_compression

Anyone know how to fix this?

Well either your video card drivers are messed up or you need to install a more recent driver or there is a chance your video card isn't supported.

Download CoH Helper, give it a run in admin mode and paste the results into a post so we can take a look at the state of your hardware and drivers.

The thing is though, I've used this video card to play this game before. Has CoH bumped up their requirements since about a year ago?

I'm not certain that the minimum requirements have changed, but Ultra Mode did bump up the recommended requirements, especially if you want to utilize any Ultra Mode settings.

Just because you've used that video card to play the game before doesn't mean your video card drivers are up to date. Please paste the output from the CoH Helper report that Father Xmas provided a link to.

It will save much guesswork since we will be able to see exactly what is going on and offer concrete solutions or suggestions.

Issue 17 brought a massive graphical update known as Ultra Mode. So yes, the game has changed.

Also, I went to the nvidia website. I'm unsure what GeForce series my graphics card was, so I clicked the auto-find button, and it said " We're sorry, the NVIDIA Smart Scan does not support your system at this time." Can anyone tell me what series my card is?

Your graphic card "NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS" is part of the 'GeForce 7 series'.

I think it'll be safe to say that you meet the minimum requirements, but you won't be using anything approaching Ultra Mode settings anytime soon.
