Identical hostage names in separate objectives
I've recently been trying to figure out a way to do this, and find it's also an issue when trying to link an ambush to the event.
" I'm an angel. I kill firstborns while their mamas watch. I turn cities into salt. I even, when I feel like it, rip the souls from little girls, and from now till kingdom come, the only thing you can count on in your existence is never understanding why."
Well if I have this straight....you need to have multiple hostages listed in AE. Then you can label them differently and then you should be able to give them different dialogue. Then just label them differently in the menu as Victim1, Victim2, and son and then refernce your objectives to those specific victims.
Problem is, objective name is taken directly from the hostage name. Thus, identically-named hostages lead to identically-named objectives.
Well you can clump them together on the nav bar by making their Navigational text identical. As for the hostages themselves, you will probably have to bite the bullet and change up their names.

But for that, there's the "Hostage" "Hostage " " Hostage" trick.

yeah...the names must be unique. if it is only 1 to 3 would adding a space at the begining of the name make them unique enough. And Patrons of your arc might not notice the spaces.....Just brainstorming here
Yeah, tried that. It gets a bit obvious after five. Ahwell, guess I'll give them all separate names.
By the way, anyone know if there's a way to give them a specific animation, rather than hands-on-head stock one?
The Animations can be changed under settings. There should be one for hostage/captive animation.
FYI: I believe the pre-i17 patch is still nerfing XP benefits for having captives/hostages in your mishes. You should be aware of this because your audience may want to get (as-close-to-) regular XP benefits in that mission.

As a last note, you can always borrow a page from the people who try to mirror popular names by making a "SacrificiaL victim" and a "Sacrificiai victim".

It's specific to the hostage you've chosen. In that case, the business man probably just doens't have any animations assigned to him. It's a fairly odd problem since I originally assumed that all animations were part of their generic human skeleton, but apparently that isn't the case.
Anyway, selecting a different hostage should let you pick animatons.
I'm trying to make a mission with a multitude of hostages, all of them sharing the same name {"Sacrificial victim"}, but with each of them using different dialogue. However, if I set up separate objectives, I get a problem with, well, objectives having the same name. Any way around it? I've tried adding spaces to the end of the name, but at seven or so, it gets a bit obvious.
