Dp/nrg
Yeah, I've taken a DP/Devices to 44 and the only thing I'm using in devices is Targeting Drone and Caltrops. Everything else in that set is underwhelming to me. I'm going to re-roll in to DP/NRG I think.
Mainly, I want to have perma-Boost Range, especially since I'm playing a hover/teleporter. I normally try to slot for range on all my attacks so having BR at all times is going to be awesome. It's too bad BR doesn't come in until level 35, but it's something to look forward to.
It's a bummer I already slotted a bunch of IO's in to my DP/Dev. Ohhhh well.
Just curious though, you mentioned "most importantly, power boost". How do you plan on using Power Boost effectively with DP? I use PB with one of my defenders and yeah it's awesome, but I'm just not understanding how you plan on using it with a blaster.

i have a dp/em(nrg) at 50. i have power thrust, build up and boost range. i do have to respec him and take power boost but i also have io sets in him so i dont need conserve power. but it is not a bad combo at all.

And I've found with my DP/EM (also 50) that, even slotted with IO sets, with Hasten up and even a little extra recharge (i.e., Speed Boost), I can pump out attacks fast enough to deplete my End despite the End reductions; I get down to 25% End or so, then pop Conserve Power, and my End will climb back to 100% by the time it fades, and it has a fair chance of recharging before my End gets that low again.

Power Boost will increase the tohit bonus of Build Up. With the lack of Aim, it will help them not miss.

Would boost power increase the secondary effects of the ice rounds in dp?
I just rolled a DP/Nrg as well. It seems to be a pretty logical combination...
I'm very curious to see how it turns out.
I've rolled up a Dual Pistols. Looking for synergies in the secondaries, I found some, but not a huge amount. It seems like most of the DP powers are useful, so I decided to pick up Nrg, and ignore the blapper side of it.
My plan is to pick all the assist powers - Build Up, Boost Range, Conserve Energy, and, most importantly, Power Boost.
Have people tried that? Will it work out? It seems like Build Up early on removes the "I feel like a weakling" complaints, Boost Range and Conserve Energy will make a difference by giving bigger cones/spheres, and then I *hope* Power Boost makes the Ammos better....
