Maybe a Chainsaw wouldn't work for a whole set, but I will vote for it to be a Broadsword/Katana/Dual Blades/Claws (wrist mounted ala Mad World) custom weapon

I like the idea. We have mutli purpose assault rifle that not only shoots bullets but also fire, grenades and even beanbags so why not a chainsaw that shoots a blade. Think of it as a short range attack like impale or focus.

Firing an infinite amount of bullets from semi-automatic pistols without reloading is -kind- of a stretch, but it happens in comics all the time. Firing a chainsaw chain at your target is both ridiculous and unprecedented in it's silliness.
At least sword-firing has made it into the movies!

Did you even read what I wrote? Are you aware how assalult rifles work right? well in case you don't they don't shoot fire, grenades or beanbags so a chainsaw shooting of a chain isn't that big of a stretch.

Also, in a world where scientists (mad or otherwise) can make flying armoured energy blasting power suits, I don't think a multi-bladed chain saw that could shoot out those blades would be too much of a stretch...

And a bean-bag round can be fired from a shotgun or grenade launcher.
A Chainsaw Blade does not a decent projectile make.

Unfortunately, outside of a few "Hedge" cases it's not even in popular culture, much less comic books. Hence the suggestion to make sure it's color tintable right out the door, letting players turn it into black beams of disaster or white light ribbon attacks.

Imagine a group of hostiles behind a barricade in a building where the cover is enough to deter small arms fire. The heavy weapon on the gyroscopic boom arm could easily swing the weapon around the corner and fire thru the barricade while the gunner takes cover around the corner.
We already have devices like the corner shot that allow smaller weapons to shoot around corners.

I got this fun idea for Tanks, Scrappers, and Brutes! Why not have something that is not use a lot?? Like Chainsaws! I know this would be hard to use and keep the villains alive :P But so are the swords, guns, and fire.
1. Slice- Melee, Moderate DMG(Lethal), Foe -DEF(All)
2. Hack- Melee, High DMG(Lethal), Foe -DEF(All)
3. Slash- Melee, Minor DMG(Lethal), Self +DEF(Lethal, Melee)
4. Build Up- Makes you stronger.
5. Taunt
6. Saw Strinke- Ranged, High DMG(Lethal), Damage over time. (You shoot one blade out of your Chainsaw)
7. Saw of Glory- Extreme DAG(Lethal, Melee) use for five seconds
8.
9. Chains of Death- Melee, Extreme DMG(Lethal), Foe -DEF(All) (You spin for 5 seconds)
I could not think of 9 of them :P I am not good at thinking of new names hehehe. Oh, the 5 second thing is because that about how long attacks like Fire Breath is on at least I think so it could be 3 :P So what do you think?
