Um... Melee?

An excellent combination is a hold, like Tesla Cage, followed by a pair of melee attacks.
I would actually call this style "True Blaster," because it's a Blaster using all of his attacks to do the most damage possible in any situation.

For me, a purely ranged attack style seems dull. I like to have a Jousting, or Kiting, style. Using Super Speed (or Ninja Run, lately) I'll run in with a heavy hitting melee attack ready to go, and jump at the last second so that my momentum carries me past enemies while the attack is animating. Done right, you can hit hard with no risk of melee retaliation and continue a ranged onslaught. Fun stuff, but it takes a bit of practice to get the timing right. Of course, it's best done when there isn't another mob behind the one you are jousting. Don't want to aggro another mob trying to avoid the majority of the first. Works really well on teams with a solid tank and/or aggro-holding scrapper (WP and Invuln, and Fire, Elec, Dark to a lesser extent, not to mention Spines) to keep the majority of the attacks off of you. That way you can devote your energy to the NPC you are jousting.

While it's trickier to pull off, I've even managed to joust PBAoEs. Very fun, that. Nothing like FSCing a mob from 20 feet away. =D

Hola all, here I am again.

I look at the powers and felt that Elec/Elec/Elec looks very fun. Elec Primary has hold and a lot of AoE. Elec Manipulation has knock back, PAoE DoT, Hold, and many melee abilities. Elec Mastery has PAoE, Hold, and damage.

All of them have build up, kill robots and drain endurance.

Would that be a little bit redundant though?

Ditto for /Fire, which has all kinds of PBAoE damage (but not much else).

One of the benefits of going with Elec/Elec is the ability
to completely drain your opponent of endurance.
Using Power Sink + Short Circuit.

This will make being in melee even easier for you!

Good choice.

No, it's not redundant. It's powerful!

IMO, my favorite and main toon is my Energy/Energy Blaster. The only downside to him is alot of Knockback when on teams. Knockback solo is good, however. To the melee question, instead of sniping first, I run in using Buildup and Aim then hit my Total Focus and I've slotted him to kill LT's that are same level as me with one hit. If they are higher, they are stunned. After that, I us a variety of melee and ranged attacks, depending on what is recharged. Melee with a blaster of that type is tough up until you get Total Focus, however when I reach Epic Power Pools, I go for Force Mastery for the Personal Force Field so that when I find myself low, I hit that and can not be hit. Also with Temp Invulnerability on and Force of Nature, I can hold my own in melee range for a while. I will say that I am more of a solo player and don't mind taking my time with my toons instead of powerleveling.

I absolutely love my Sonic/Elec/Elec blapper. Against most everything in the game, he can fire off Siren's Song and just pick off minions and lts at his leisure. And this has served and will serve him well through his last few bars to 50.

Unlike other Blapper combinations people have suggested, Sonic/Elec, IMHO, works best as a single-target attacker, partly b/c you don't want to wake everyone up after you've just slept them. In addition, Sonic/Elec/Elec has a plethora of fast-recharging controls -- a wide area sleep in Siren's Song, a stun in Screech, a melee hold in Shocking Grasp, and a ranged hold in Shocking Bolt. If you keep on your toes, most content goes down without much of a fight

It has its uses yes, however NPCs recover pretty quick and they only need a slither of endurance to start firing off attacks. Not that even fully end drain slotted elec/elec blasters won 't drain the hit points of a boss, and often the PS and SC combo will fail to fully drain a lit dry. Also when an NPC has it's endurance drained, they run. run in with PS and SC and the entire mob will scatter before you can lay down some decent AoE damage, something that elec/elec lacks heavily on if you want to end drain effectively.

My first blaster was elec/elec/elec, and i moved on to my ice/erg shortly after i got him to 50, even with decent sets, you can only do so much with elec/elec's secondaries, i eventually just resorted to just going for pure damage rather than worrying about the secondaries.

Yes, but Short Circuit also comes with a certain number of seconds of "no recovery".

The boss info should be wrong (last I checked)- the drain is a percent of total. You still may run into problems with higher-level guys not getting 100% drained.

My big Short Circuit problem is, that's a long time to be standing in melee range doing nothing before it goes off.

I tend to Nuke at Range most times with my AR/Dev and Fire/EM build.I am one of the few people that takes Rain of Fire for a Blaster and uses it.

I plan on Farming with my Fire/EM Blaster soon.
