Amen brotha.

I actually don't think Tech support is being communicated with completely. I feel like the project management plan isn't bringing in all of the stakeholders and Tech Support is being left out in the wind.

Here is what I would like to hear from tech support.

"We are going to work you though a series of tests and fixes that will fix a majority of problems however we are aware of a set of problems which we, as of yet, do not have a fix for. We are told it is being feverishly worked on and we hope to have a fix for you soon."

Instead we get their current - its your routers fault - gibberish which holds very little logical water.

What I find interesting is that I can make my LCTM issues go away entirely by hitting the Windows Key. When CoH is in the background the issues stop. I can see my bots fighting, people dying, er, uh, being arrested in droves but there is no connection problem. So if it was my router why would it go away when CoH goes from front to background? Because it is the PROGRAMS ISSUE, not the router.

My issues have not totally gone away as I had thought the had magically done. I did an ITF today. Laggggg was my constant companion but it would clear up just before the dreaded LCTM message would pop up.

Since 17 I have been having problems trying to stay connected. I am in the middle of the ping info retrieval. Funny thing is everytime I do too much I lock up and have to start the entire "30 minute" test!!!!

You know, I wonder why I did not have a problem the day before the update....Right after the newest update bango I was in hell.....

I am connected directly to my dsl modem, no router and no wireless!!!!

I hate this!!!

I bet, your CPU is utilized 100% and CoH has no chance to process incoming packets from mapserver and send acknowledgements back. I guess, if mapserver doesn't see acknowlegements from the client for some time it will disconnect client. As soon as you hit Windows key, CoH becomes background process and CPU utilization goes below 10%. There all incoming packets processed and acks sent back to mapserver so you are staying connected.

Something, introduced in i17, demands much more CPU than it was in i16.

Yes and no. The CPU is pegged at 100% utilization with the game running, however it doesn't drop when the game is in the background. CPU remains at 100% with the focus off the game and the window visible and the connection good. Same with game minimized.

Looking at my connection data, and not knowing how to interpret it, could someone else let me know what it is saying? Looks to me that the problems are Network Time Out related and not here at home. 100% Packet loss when connecting to PlayNC chart 2 lines 9 and 10.

I just wanted to let you know that the information here doesn't necessarily display any connection issues. I ran a lot of traceroutes and pathpings when I worked in ISP network troubleshooting, and it is not at all unusual to get no response from gateway servers like you see on Lines 9 and 10. Some servers are configured to not respond to ping requests, or are protected from such unnecessary traffic to minimize load.

I am having the exact same issues that other have mentioned in this thread regarding the intermittent packet loss. See: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...74#post2843274 for more information.

I too am having mapserve/disconnect issues right now, as is everyone in my SG. When entire teams mapserve and disconnect simultaneously while trying to zone into missions, it doesn't seem in any way logical to blame individual player hardware issues.

Moreover, my graphics card has been handling UM just fine, and when I was on beta-testing for I17 back before the live release, I was not running into the mapserver-disconnect issues. Over the last couple of days, the game has become virtually unplayable. I'm guessing it's a live-release bug the Devs haven't managed to track down yet.

I was just on for a minute, but the patch today looks like it may have fixed my problem...

Think they will give me credit on my accounts for the time from i17 dropping and now LOL - NOT!

Checked the patch notes, nothing that sounds like it should have made any difference. Maybe it working was just a glitch... Have to wait and see.

Can't even talk on vent with the game running.

Someone help us!

Old sig, first post in (years maybe).

Game unplayable, even in safe mode.
Newest drivers loaded tonight just to be sure.

All of the above is happening to me.

Sound loops

Game Freezing

And support telling me to run the pc with nothing else on the pc.

All to no effect

Last night i was running on minimum settings and the game was still freezing up and using all available memory.

Running 3500 xp cpu,2 gb ram on a router plugged directly into the pc.
Windows xp serice pack 3.

gets a lot worse in teams where i assume load is greater.

CPU at 100% is normal and correct behaviour for Vista/Win 7 - Microsoft changed the way it allocate processor usage to maximise it.

Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr
and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant

Not necessarily.

I was running it on Win7 64bit and no single processor hit 100%.
