small black squares zipping across my screen

Every few seconds, a line of what looks like little black boxes (it moves to fast to really see them) zips across my screen. I've changed the settings all around but nothing stops it. I've turned ultra mode completely off and it still does it. Sometimes it's at the top of the screen, sometimes the middle, sometimes the bottom. This didn't happen pre-i17, so it's definitely something with i17.

I am running dual 9800GTX video cards on a Windows Vista 64-bit 2.5GHx machine with 8GB of Ram.

I've tried changing every last option, I think, and... I still get the black squares.

They have always been there. They do not have voices, but you will know what they want you to do.

You guys are a riot. :P That said, I'm still getting these black squares, and still frustrated as hell.

UBOs (Unidentified Black Objects)?

Could each of you who are seeing this problem post your video card and driver versions?

Not only does CoX not support SLI, it apparently actively hates it. On e hunch I removed one of my two GeForce 9800 GTX+ cards (I had already tried simply disabling SLI mode to no avail) and, like magic, the black squares disappeared. No clue why, but I'm happy that I can at least play now without seeing garbage flicker across my screen every few seconds.

Multiple GPU support is never an automatic thing. A game needs to be designed in such a way that ATI's and nVidia's methods of supporting multiple GPUs will work effectively. There have always been games that support multiple GPUs well, OK and even some where the framerates actually got worse. And due to the lack of a plethora of OpenGL games, I'm sure OpenGL SLi may be a bit more dodgy than DirectX.

Now during the closed Beta there was a red name post about a super secret pre alpha command line flag to enable some kind of multiple GPU support but stated repeatedly as a very, very preliminary attempt at providing this support so if it doesn't work or the game gets unstable don't come running for help, we warned you. Not sure if that made it out of closed Beta.

And we worked so hard on that hating SLI feature

Did you try the '-slifbos 2' feature?
