One With The Shield (SD Defense)
Active Defense is your mez protection. It is in fact your superior mez protection because you can have it up all the time. Without seeing your build and/or knowing more about how/why you play, it's hard to say if OWtS is a good pick or if the medicine pool is better than stealth for you. If you've soft-capped or are planning to, OWtS is only needed if you're really pushing the limits, like AV soloing. The big question though is what would you take instead? Maybe you can keep the Medicine pool and just take Hasten instead of OWtS.

OWtS is a good power the thing is most of my /SD build are so tight that I end up droping it for Hasten or something else that will get more use.
Depending on if what are planning on doing with the build, you could get away without having owts and the medicine pool easily.
/gignore @username is the best feature of this game. It's also probably the least used feature.

When it comes to Elec/SD scrappers, most go with either of two paths, grabbing the body mastery epic for more regen and better endurance/recovery tools or those who know the magic that is Fireball. Either way, it's a tight build and you likely won't have room for OWtS and/or Aid Self/Other. Either way, you'll likely want Hasten, keeping LR and SC up as often as possible. There are some expensive and tight builds out there that have them all, but for the most part you're going to have to play with mids and leave some stuff out that you just don't have room for. I'm of the opinion that OWtS is a great power and I'd love it on all my shielders, sadly it doesn't usually make it into the final builds.
Thank you all for the input.
If I can, I'll try to go with Hasten rather than OWIS.
I currently have the power pools (from memory):
Fitness
Leadership (for Manuevers)
Medicine
so I should be able to get Hasten in there. Whether or not I can get Superspeed is another story. I guess Ninja Run has spoiled me something terribly.
I do appreciate all of your advice. Thanks much! I agree it's a VERY tight build!

My BS/SD scrapper has OwtS; it was my 49 pick and there are occasions where I need it. I soft capped my defenses and went the Fighting pool route for Tough/Weave instead of Medicine, frankly I haven't missed the Medicine pool.
On the rare occasions when something gets through my defenses a green or two takes care of the problem. It's extremely rare that I take enough damage to overcome my soft capped defenses, the occasional OwtS use and any greens I may be carrying. Frankly if I'm in far enough over my head that I've already used OwtS and eaten all my inspirations I doubt Aid Self would really matter

I wonder why you're asking for more mez protection.. You did take Active Defense at 10 didn't you? Or at least at 16? With 2 rech SOs it already protects you against anything (even the rarer ones like fear, confusion, repel that many sets don't have protection against)... Are you having mez problems?
But yes, Owts adds more mez protection besides +recovery, +HP and some resistance to all but psi. This extra mez protection would only really matter in cases like Romulus' mega stun when he rezzes in the ITF (I think, because I don't know the exact mag of his stun, but a granite tanker with rooted - 'double' mez protection - can ignore it). Ghost Widow would hold you anyway in the STF if you don't have clear minds stacked.
But well if you want a build feedback from the people here, post your build using Mids - cohplanner.com is where you get it.
Hello all,
) that offers mez protection?
My Elec/SD scrapper is about to get to level 37 and I've slate him to take One With The Shield (OWTS).
Just wondering if that's a wise choice. I ask this because, unless I'm mistaken, it offers resistance to many mezzes. Isn't there already another power (I think it's True Grit --- can't remember, I'm at work
Also, he currently has Aid Other and Aid Self. I have used Aid Self numerous times (it's nice to always have the equivalent of a greenie with me at all times), but I've seen other Elec/SD scrappers with Hasten to get LR and SC up faster. Also, it seems that Superspeed's stealth factor would be nice to position myself before launching my AOEs.
What are your thoughts on getting rid of the medicine pool for favor of the Speed pool?
Thanks for any advice you can offer... I'm having a blast with him (especially since I've got LR and SC!)
