Step 3: Put in billing information, such as a credit card
Step 4: Play
Step 5: If game is not for you, or you do not want it to automatically resubscribe at the end of the month, cancel your subscription. You will be able to play out the rest of the month just fine.

You're not quite clear on it, but the sound of your post seems to indicate to me that you may still be on trial and haven't actually bought the game yet. If that's the case, you'll need to go to the NCSoft store and buy the game first. Buying it through the store means you'll get the serial code, but won't get a CD shipped to you.

One - make sure you "Upgrade" with the code (you are upgrading your trial account). Also, with the NCSoft Online store, they won't send you the serial code until after you use it.
Two make sure you save the email with the serial code, and the last four digits of the card used for buy it and (when the free month is over) paying for that first months subscription. If something happens and your account is compromised, those are the bits of info used to verify your ownership. Note, compromised includes things like forgetting all the passcodes for your master account.
