**/SR build idea?

Hello Forumites.I have decided to roll a Super Reflexes Scrapper.Simply because I cant have it on a Tanker.*Shakes fist at Dev's*

I have a decent amount of Tankers, and I want a SR Scrapper.I know a Brute would feel more Tankish, but who needs Fury anyway?

I have the Following for Tankers. This may help a bit on Melee Recomendations for SR.

SD/Axe
Ice/Ice
WP/EM
Elec/Elec
Fire/Fire
Dark/Dark

What would be a good Technological Theme for a SR Scrapper's Melee skill?

He is a young Scientist in a Reflex Suit.Which exsplains the SR part of the Theme and Build.

Any Suggjestions?

Well I would try something that a Tank doesn't have. Some things that would fit your theme would be

Katana/SR
Claws/SR

Both go great with /SR.

Katana will be more Tankish because of Divine Avalanche +Def to Melee and Lethal So it will get you at to soft cap at a early lvl.

Claws will do more damage with Follow Up and spin is a great AoE. Really it is hard to go wrong with a /SR toon anything will go well with it

Hmm... I have some trouble to find a reason to exclude any of the scrapper primaries based on tech origin or the suit you mentioned.

For example you could take MA and say the suit is doing all the moves. There was this Jackie Chan movie "Tuxedo" where this actually happened.
I wouldn't take Katana or Broadsword. Not because these powersets are bad but because I think the synergy (Parry, Divine Avalanche) is better if you pair them with a resistance based set or with regen. But this is only my personal opinion, of course.
Considering the powersets you already have played and assuming you might want to try something new, this would leave Claws, Dual Blades, Spines and MA. I have no experience with MA (never liked the set very much) but Claws, DB and Spines are all solid options. If you intend to spend a reasonable ammount of inf the ranking would probably be Spines (ST: 3, AoE: 1, ranged: 1), Claws (ST: 1, AoE: 3, ranged: 2), DB (ST: 2, AoE: 2, no ranged). Claws and DB are close together in ST and AoE and Spines and Claws are close together in ranged.

I agree with BrokenPrey that using a set Tankers can't get maximizes your exposure to new stuff.

If you didn't like those choices, Dark Melee, although a Tanker set, is frequently used in technology concepts, as "nanobots" or "molecular energy" or whatnot, and it synergizes well with SR.

Does she call it a "Tar-jaying Drone?"

Nobody mentioned Dark Melee as a good idea to match with /sr.
May i ask why? I have one so I'm just curious what you guys have against it.

Well, you can always find SOME concept to make it work, but Dark Melee doesn't seem very technological.

On the other hand, my Katana/Dark is Tech origin, channeling dark energy through his cutting edge cyborg body. Whatever works.

Dark Melee/Super Reflexes IS an excellent combination.

I've been running a claw/sr brute, who is 34 now, and the combo would work just as well on a scrapper. The fast animations of claws mesh well with the dodgey feel of SR, and the knockdown/back of Focus and Shockwave are AWESOME mitigation. Focus alone will keep a boss on it's butt for a whole fight, and Shockwave will do that to a whole spawn.

The vanguard claw is a great tech costume option, and certain costume combos create a really neat look (big enforcer gloves and fury claws, valkyrie gloves and flat or viper claws).

My main Villain is a Tech origin Dark/SR Stalker. He uses a pair of gloves (and a holographic device to project the intimadating skull and tentacles) that pull light out of the immeadiate area as a power source to increase the density of his fists (thus increasing their damage upon strike). I thought it worked pretty well. His costume(s) are a play off of Batman and Rorschach.

With that said, Dark Melee is an excellent set to pair with most anything, the extra Defense in the form of -ToHit really helps out those sets lacking Defense or to add insult to injury to sets like SR. However, IIRC from the OP he already played DM, and that might explain the dearth of suggestions noted by an earlier poster.

For me, cause my only experiences with Dark Melee are paired with Regen or Dark Armor.

Well Sailboat did mentioned Dark Melee

For Me it's not about tech not fitting or anything, he as a Dark/Dark Tank so why not try something new.

Elec melee is great on a scrapper and certainly fits w/tech origin.
