Also, the KB set Kinetic Crash, if you slot 4 of 'em, gives you 3 points of KB protection. Since the set also enhances damage, it's not that bad to put into any powers that do KB.

Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

Note that Karma and Steadfast -Knb IOs can be obtained with (relatively cheap) Bronze ticket rolls from AE missions. I've gotten quite a few that way; it's a good option if you find them pricey or hard to find on the market

Also, remember that all of these (well, except for Kinetic Crash) are Global IOs so if you want to keep the Kb protection when exemping down for TFs and such it's useful to buy low levels versions (you keep the benefit as long as your exemped level is no more than 3 levels below the IO level).

Or they're 75 merits each. I mean yeah that's a pain in the butt, but it's not as outrageous as most proc recipes

I recommend 12 points of KB protection. My DM/DA does fine with just one IO (4 points) but she's a scrapper, so you'll be surrounded by mobs more often as a Tanker. My scrapper only got KB'ed to the point that annoyed me in the KHTF (which nobody does frequently anymore because it's not a quick way to get a recipe like before).

Thanks for the help. I got a level 11 Karma, switched to an alternate build with combat jumping, and slotted it there. I have run 25-28 using it and have not been KB yet. Only tanked one AV though. I am running all SOs except for that. As I decide what I/O build I am going with (and as I wait to see if I go flying too often) I will decide whether to drop in more KB protection.

I've got 12 in a Fire/Fire Tanker, and had 8 in a Fire/Ice tanker until recently, but she was getting knocked around by Fakes, so I got another Steadfast. But until that point 8 KB had worked under almost all circumstances up to level 45.

I'm not sure that it's possible to slot 4 pieces of Kinetic Crash without actually resorting to a piece that enhances knockback. This will turn a power that ordinarily does knockdown in which it is slotted to knockback. This is the least desirable path, but possibly the least expensive.
