Advice on SS/Fire Build

Hello all... Just came back from a year or so break and I'm picking up where I left off on my SS/Fire brute. I've been playing him the past 2 days helping friends level and I don't really like his current build. I don't remember my plans for the build I left on him, but I'd like to get him in shape for farming as he is my only 50 red side. After reading some posts, I will more than likely switch to Soul Mastery--didn't like Mu much tbh. Also, I'd like to get rid of Burn unless it's "necessary". I have quite a few IOs on him already, but I didnt get to collect all the ones I had needed. The plan was to fill Blazing Aura and Foot Stomp w/ Obliteration sets, but for now I'll have to use a cheap filler until I can actually afford them (sitting on about 60 mil). OK, I dont have a lot of time so im going to be quick.

1st you have 5 slots in hasten, you REALLY dont need that. So take two out of that and move them somewhere else.
2nd if you want to farm I recommend you stay with mu, I farm on an SS/will and FS+ball lighting+fences = mob dead
3rd if I remember right burn just makes the mob run away so either drop it or at least move the slots in it into something else, punch really needs it
4th I dont see jab or haymaker in there. Did you mean? You at least want jab.
5th Drop hurl and get jab or haymaker with that hurl takes way too long to use if you want to farm.

Well, I only agree with this statement if you only intend on farming minions and LT's. If you're running at +2/x8 with bosses then I say Soul Mastery is the way to go. Gloom will increase your single target DPS which you shouldn't ignore if you're fighting bosses.

My budget: As stated, I'm sitting on about 60 mil... why I need cheap alternatives to take the place of Oblits in FA and FS till I can afford them.

Hasten: Ya I don't know why I 5 slotted it, I never put more than 3 in it.

Eradication is a good one, four slotting that (nice +HP, end and def) and then 2 cleaving blow if you need the end, I dont think eradication is that much but i cant remember. Of course, thanks to the price of salvage any thing is gonna be a decent chunk of inf. I actually wanted until I had a bil to work with before started to really slot my brute (not the best idea but i wanted to be able to afford what i wanted).

Awesome advice guys. Two other question:
-Would damage proc IOs be good in Blazing Aura?
-Is there any reason to keep CJ and Weave and should they be slotted?

For the new build first off you want the FF +rech proc in FS it is TOTALLY AWSOME
And for your post above that im not a big fan of dmg proc so i would slot for acc/dmg and stuff.
And CJ and weave are great places to put LotG when you get the money, if your doing AE farming you could get that money really fast. (you also wouldnt have to worry about surviability on the right mish but thats a whole other topic).
And, of course i still think Mu mastery would be better for farming. SS has great ST dmg, I can easily kill bosses.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Kinetic Crash in attacks, but I can see why you're doing it. It's cheap, gets you recharge and kb protection, so I won't touch that. Like ultrawatt said, the FF +rech proc in FS is great so I'd put one in there.

You said you were going to put Obliterations in FS and Blazing Aura, but I wouldn't slot it in Blazing because it's terrible for endurance and procs in toggles are not very good. Instead you can move 2 slots from Blazing over to Stamina and Health for some more endurance management, you will need it. 4 slot Stamina with Performance Shifters and add a Numina's Unique in Health. I know you're on a budget so you may have to work towards getting the Numina, Miracle, and LoTG.

This is from my experience as far as Mu vs. Soul. I ran Mu Mastery on my SS/Fire for the longest time until I switched to Soul and never looked back. Sure, SS already has pretty good ST damage, but with Gloom, you'll be taking down bosses a lot faster, it's just that good.

Also, Dark Obliteration gives its damage upfront while Ball Lighting is in ticks and the AoE damage you lose is minimal. The difference in base damage is less than 10. Elec Fences is better than Soul Tentacles, but I don't find myself using either very much. Don't have a problem with runners and Elec Fences is counter productive to Foot Stomps mitigation.

I love the build you posted overall and I am thinking of utilizing it

You stated that you would slot something other than Kinetic Crash into the single-target attacks, though you can see why the OP wants to keep the KC sets. I imagine there are many more attractive and expensive alternatives out there, so I was hoping you could elaborate a bit on what a higher-budget SS/Fire would invest in differently later on as more inf flows in.

heres a build im working on. the 35 s/l def does help with fighting any attack that has s/l in it. not the cheapest build cuz the Kinetic Combats are insanely expensive right now. luckily i have 3 sets just sitting around
but check it out and see what u think

Well, the Kinetic Crash sets give both recharge and kb protection which is certainly needed on a SS/Fire. Defense does work well on resistance based toons, but farming Nemesis or anything with defense debuffs then it will seem like you have no defense at all.

Here's the build I'm using and it's great for farming Liberate TV or just killing things, fast. I obtained all of the purples a while ago before prices became so high so it would be really expensive to get all of these sets now.
