  1. Thanks for your responses. Right now I'm leaning towards /SR and /WP. Which of these do you think has the advantage in survivability while solo? Would /SR need Weave?
  2. My next project is going to be a claws brute and I need some advice choosing a secondary. I'd like something that can handle most content w/ a group or solo. I don't plan on soloing any heroes right away, but I'd like to be able to tank them for groups, as well as have the potential for soloing them later on. It would also be nice (for a change) to be able to jump into the middle of a huge +2/+3 spawn and be left standing at the end of the fight. The only thing I'm not worried about for this toon is PvP and farming. At the moment I am drawn more towards defensive based sets; they seem more survivable. The only secondary I have any real experience with is Fiery Aura, so I have a lot of questions about the other sets:

    Dark - I like the look and feel of the set, but I'm afraid it wont have the survivability I'm looking for.

    Electric - Also worried about survivability with this set. How well does Energize increase this? Is it a reliable heal or would I still need Aid Self?

    Energy - I've always heard it sucks, but it looks good on Mid's. Defense softcap should be easy to reach plus it has awesome end management.

    Invuln - Awesome resistance, but how well can it stand up to heroes? How well can it solo? Worried about the lack of end recovery.

    SR - This is the first set I had in mind. Awesome defense and Quickness, but lacks endurance recovery.

    WP - Seems to have the best survivability in groups, but what about vs one enemy?

    I have a fully IO'd out farmer on red side so inf wont be a problem over time. Thanks to everyone in advance for all their advice.
  3. Thanks guys. Respeced and gotta say I love the build. 2 TV farm mish's got me enough to finish out the IOs and all I can say is it's rediculous...
  4. New build I put together. Advice? Thoughts? Foot Stomp and Blazing Aura will both get Obliteration sets when I can afford them.

  5. Awesome advice guys. Two other question:
    -Would damage proc IOs be good in Blazing Aura?
    -Is there any reason to keep CJ and Weave and should they be slotted?
  6. My budget: As stated, I'm sitting on about 60 mil... why I need cheap alternatives to take the place of Oblits in FA and FS till I can afford them.

    Hasten: Ya I don't know why I 5 slotted it, I never put more than 3 in it.
  7. Hello all... Just came back from a year or so break and I'm picking up where I left off on my SS/Fire brute. I've been playing him the past 2 days helping friends level and I don't really like his current build. I don't remember my plans for the build I left on him, but I'd like to get him in shape for farming as he is my only 50 red side. After reading some posts, I will more than likely switch to Soul Mastery--didn't like Mu much tbh. Also, I'd like to get rid of Burn unless it's "necessary". I have quite a few IOs on him already, but I didnt get to collect all the ones I had needed. The plan was to fill Blazing Aura and Foot Stomp w/ Obliteration sets, but for now I'll have to use a cheap filler until I can actually afford them (sitting on about 60 mil).   9. I'm sure this has already been posted, but just in case it hasn't or was missed...

    For those of you that aren't familiar with boards and codes, when exporting your Mid's Hero/Villain Designer to the new CoH boards, you need to set 'Formatting Code Type' to

    phpBB / Zetaboards

    instead of the Official Forums (UBB.threads). This will allow the format to work the same as it did with the previous forums. If you use the old type, the data link will not work.

    Hope this helps at least one person =)

    Barb Swipe is available at level 1, Assassin's Impaler at level 6, and Impale at level 18. I took them as soon as they were available, and they are the only attacks that I plan on taking for pre-30, so I'm not sure exactly what you're asking... Ripper was just a filler at the end; probably won't even take it.
