AE xp fixed?

Hey guys,

I've been away for awhile now and decided to come back to check out this GR and I17 stuff.
But since that isn't all released yet I figured I'd check out my old friend AE.

Now I've wanted to make a brute or any toon really that I can solo with and do a 1-50 run in AE. I'm not looking for farms. I'm looking for story/paper like missions to do this.

Last time I tried this Hero side my lvl 3 tank was getting 9 xp per minnion in AE vs 12 xp on the streets. Thus my question, Have they fixed the xp in AE so it matches normal missions?

Thanks,

Well, there's a differential in how AE enemies are built vs standard enemy mobs. Most enemy combos aside from extreme/extreme (or maybe it's hard/hard) won't give full XP. Also, some normal enemies give an XP bonus. It really depends on the type of foe you're fighting.

Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

Sounds like its best to skip the AE in less you can search for ones with full xp.

Personally I find AE missions a lot more fun and I don't have to run all over the place to do them.

Do what you find fun.

You earn less for an equivilent foe in the AE.

This is to prevent creating massively efficient farming missions.

That said, you can still earn 75% XP for regular mobs in the AE, you don't have to travel (you can park in the AE building), and you can play 'new' content. While I personally wish it gave 'average' XP, it's still a decent source of experience.

One other thing to note is that AE does not use the blue patrol XP (unless you die and it pays off your debt).

So it you would not get the extra 50% xp for that.

I don't remember reading why it was that it did not use the patrol xp in there.

I can understand the anti-farming tactic. Maybe I will find myself running some there. I'll just see how it goes.

Thanks guys

Well, you still get tickets which to me seem a little better way of generating inf for DOs->SOs->IOs as opposed to doing the normal mishes. I seem to always outpace my enhancements in normal mishes.

Don't forget this varies depending on where you log off. If you have you character sleep in the Police station you can add an additional 25% to your XP but again that does not apply in any AE mission you run and that 25% is time sensative so before losing the chance to earn 175% XP outside of AE for up to 2 hours its better to run missions elsewhere until that runs out. Also while you don't use Patrol XP in Ae missions, aside for erasing debt, it doesn't increase as you level so if you have 10 bars of Patrol at level 10 and then increase to say level 15 or 20 you can watch the blue bars disappear since you earned X amount of XP creidt and at the higher level that doesn't equate to as many bars. I have seen my patrol XP vanish completely this way during double XP weekends since I was leveling so fast I simply outleveled the amount I had on hand.

If you're concerned about XP, select arcs that run you against standard enemies (Hellions, Outcasts, etc.). If you fight the same guys you fight in the streets you'll get the same XP (unless the author is a dunderhead and made a custom group that's missing the boss, LT or minion level).

Note, however, that some standard critters award less than full XP: Freaks, at least some Family, etc. In general, though, the standard critters that give less XP are easier to fight.

It was mentioned in the Issue 17 announcement that they are looking at improving how XP is handled for custom enemies in AE. We'll see how that goes.

Plus AE Tickets are much more convenient for getting many pieces of hard to get invention salvage, it's nice being able to buy the exact rare or uncommon item you need right here and now without dealing with often overinflated market prices.
