Interesting Observation on New Toons

So I just rolled another new toon about a week ago. A Dual/Elec Blaster. Having some fun so far with her and watching the new effects with the Dual Pistols. Anyways, normally when I start with a new Toon, I don't really pay attention to my difficulty settings until I get in the higher levels, maybe after level 22 when you are able to get the beefier enhancements.

I ended up getting a mish that had me go against an EB. I knew I couldn't take him solo so I was going to drop my diff settings for better results. To my surprise (and I have never noticed this before) my difficulty settings where +0/+0. I had to scratch my head as I know there is not a +0 for number of heros or villains you are equal to. Normally it will show +0/+1 since the drop down won't give you a +0.

With that being said, does the diff settings automatically default you on +0/+0 for number of heros or villains you are equal to since your Toon would be too weak in the get-go?

+0/x0 is the exact same setting as +0/x1. There is no difference. It just seems to default to that for a new character until the first time it is changed, then it will always go back to the correct +0/x1.

ETA: It is an interesting way to see if a fellow player on the same team as you has ever changed their difficulty. If you're teamed with them and their diff shows 0/0, you know they've never moved off of the original settings.

That was also everybody's default setting when the options were first added to the game. I think have some old toons that still have it as well.

Would be neat if you could do missions that had no enemies and still get EXP.

Boring as all hell, but neat. :P

To this 4/4 beat, I'm in time with you. To this 4/4 beat, I would die for you. Your lovesick melody is going to get the best of me tonight, but you won't get to me 'cause I won't sing.

There was (don't know if it's still there) an AE mission on the tiny casino map, where the instant you zoned in, the mission was done. No enemies, glowies, or anything.

I created one of those once. I might still have it too. All you have to do is use almost any Tiny map, then add a Rescue and an Ally Patrol. Usually the Ally patrol ends up taking the place of the Hostage's mob, which means it's instantly freed when the mission spawns, and the mission completes upon zoning.

I used it to farm the "complete 100 story arcs in test mode" and the "complete 100 published story arcs" back before the changes.

It also counted toward the "rescue 50 hostages" badges for both test mode and published. Ahh.. those were the days. lol

PS- No, this is not an XP exploit.. You don't get any rewards at all for missions like this, not even the published version. No Mission complete XP or arc bonus of any kind. Not even a single ticket.
