I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. They have said that the number of missions we can hold at once is increasing from 3 to (I think) 7.

The devs don't like to prioritize going back and changing legacy missions if there's nothing really broken about them, even though they may be annoying. And that's because they'd rather spend their time making new content and fixing actual bugs. However, they have gone back and fixed a few things (like the Hollows) and you can be sure that anything new, or anything revisited for whatever reason will have less running around and quicker-to-use cell phonage.

Play redside more. There are many less defeat X and run all over the place missions.

How do we know which contacts are "new", and offer newer content? What issues were did htey come out in? Is there any way to find that out?
Pretty much any contact added after Issue 2 onward. Contacts in The Hollows, any of the Shard zones, Striga, Croatoa, Faultline or RWZ (because they were redone), Cimerora, and PVP zones. That's just off the top of my head, could be more I missed.
