basically, if you see a miki on Triumph, it's probably cute and it's probably me.
Huge thanks to cuppamanga and all the folks in the mac help forum for prolonging my borrowed time on this game.
Yikes! I'll be on watch for that.
This is a very common virus. There is some good loop around to get it off your PC, since Norton cannot get rid of a virus to save your life.
Although it does mean that you will might need to hook up with some more internal file keys to get it (unfortunatley).
Best this to do is run it in safe mode first. That should stop the virus from running. I would do a virus scan in full depth. I will see if I can track down the file you need to look for.
First thing I did was virus scan in safe mode and ta-da nothing showed up. I researched it and found several sites that give directions to resolve it. Nice trojan. It alters every .exe file so when you open a program it kicks off. Also seems to have blocked Internet access so I may be going in manually. Can't wait. Oh yes Norton is the best.

system restore - best tool for these situations - roll back to a time period before the virus showed up, after all that is why microsoft created that system tool
That is why I don't get Norton. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to broken. Hackers and Crackers look at bypassing that.
I had Norton then I found out how bad it was from Computer Programmers I know and all the Trojans I got.
I use Spyware Doctor and have had great success.

Also norton is not the best. Hackers know it all to well. I run Avast and have not seen a problem in my time using it.
I've been running Kaspersky for months now, at work and at home. It's a little paranoid, but otherwise rock-solid.
Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome.

Heh, I've killed it twice (once for a friend, once for my brother), but it seems to be getting smarter each time around.
Be prepared for an epic battle - or format and reinstall.

...Is a vile and evil Trojan that hit my older comp. It is a paperweight atm. My teenagers tip-toeing around me as I am sure they helped invite it in.
So glad I am paying Norton all this money to have to jump through hoops to fix it.
If I find a programmer who does these things I will go all "med-evil on their ***" ala Ving on Zed.
