Looking back and missing the old days...
There is some serious street sweeping hatin' going on here. I loved street sweeping on my first 50, thats actually how i hat 50 killing carnies in PI with my friend. No one does it any more and that makes me sad. I'm sure some of you remember getting on a team of 8 in PP and then just cleaning the streets of skulls and hellions. Good times.
IMHO, the only reason i dont participate in hami raids is cause the rewards SUCK for the time and difficulty (yes i know there have been cases that dont follow suit, but trying to get 50 people to organize themselves is NOT normally easy)
You know, I went to a 30 minute evacless Hamidon Raid a few days ago (technically two on the same night). I'd say there were probably about 10 or so people that actually knew exactly what they were doing. Everyone else just followed orders to the best of their ability. There weren't even that many deaths (though I did mass rez more than three people twice with Howling Twilight, but that was over the course of two different Hamidon Raids (in the Abyss and Abyss2)).
Point being, if you actually have enough people, it's not that hard. But if you don't, it'd be nice if you didn't just grind to a halt because your EoE supply ran dry.
thx for correcting, i was just estimating (i admit was a little low), but its still annoying how 50 people are needed for the average raid (locking poeple out, ect, is just plain annoying, further slowing raids, would help a ton if they added a freakin hospital to the zone at least)

You kind clarified my point. The cap is because of the "horrific griefing" and "paralyzing lag" that was used as an excuse to change the Hami raid so bad. And I agree, for that headache, a random Hami whose value can go as low as 10,000 inf at the WW is nuts. Which is where the social aspect came in, and now that "compensation" is gone.
I've done the new Raid very few times, and even with people who I KNOW are good at what they do (Yes you, Major T !) , it has occasionally been a horrible mess or a "success" that offered a lousy reward. Just not worth the headache, especially when you can (literally) walk into the Hive, walk to where Hami USED to be all the time, and get the Heart of the Hamidon badge in an empty "bowl."
I miss the goofy attacks that failed so horribly. I miss the rallying of the troops by the raid leader, and the thrill of seeing Hami succumb to the focused efforts of the same people who just minutes before were being TP'd and rezzed en masse. I miss the "**** talk". Hell, I even miss Yellow Death LOL
While I cannot say I was ever a fan of Hami raids, I agree they did have their bright spots...
The overwhelming number of heroes on the attack.
The death cuddle.
The occasional yellow death.
I must admit, I miss the original Quantum Flight for Peacebringers. As long as you could handle the endurace cost, which was high, you could travel phased anywhere you liked. You could see the most interesting places.
By the way, to be clear, these shots are from Hami-raids as they used to exist. These do not represent current raids or their successful tactics.
I miss the old days when we had threads that got trolled into group a vs. group b every friggin time.
Also I miss the occasional mass Monster pull to Portal Corp.

I miss the days when Jello Shooters was actually a Protector channel.
I miss the days when the server actually had spirit, we had a mascot, we had things like Robot Rampage and RP Task Forces (Not my thing, but still thought it was cool), we were a server of doers.
I miss the days when this was a close-knit community.
I look around today and is a little saddened. Jello shooters was silent for a good portion of the evening. I see people complaining and I see few stepping up and doing things to better the community. WTH happened to us?
If somebody you're arguing with goes off the deep end, don't follow.
