Having Alt-itus Im looking into building a DB/SR scrapper. Any input from the more experienced Scrappers would be helpful as I mostly play Defenders/Corr. My knowledge of IO set bonuses and Combos for the most efficient builds is lacking. There always seems to be something I miss or over look. Here is what I have come up with so far. I try to plan around non-epics/PvP IOs. One or two epics are or, but never a full set

I've got a DB/SR scrapper sitting at 50 that I'm pretty pleased with his build. We've both chosen the same powers from the primaries and secondaries but chose differently on the pool picks.

The first thing I noticed when looking over your build was that you hit the defensive soft cap (45%) for melee and then some, but missed the mark on ranged and AoE by a bit. That extra almost 5% to melee really isn't doing you any good at all since as a /SR scrapper you have maxed out def debuff resistance as well. I'd try to drop that down to around 45% and then try to at least boost ranged up as you'll notice a difference. I generally run solo on radio missions set for +2/X8 and the melee and ranged defence is absolutley necessary, AoE not so much depending on whom I'm facing.

The only other thing I see is all the +recharge. In my opinion, and your mileage may vary, that much recharge isn't needed for dual blades (an already fast set), and with quickness in /SR your pretty much golden as is. Plus those LoTG +recharges cost a fortune. I'f your aiming for the BF + AV attack chain I don't think you need that much recharge. And if you mix in the sweep combo for mitigation as I do, you definitely don't need that much recharge as you'll always have one combo up or the other.

Here's my build, it worked great for me. I went without a travel power as I got all I needed from ninja run + quickness + sprint + other speed enhancements. I also didn't take aid self/other, I'd rather pop a green or two than use a couple picks and all those slots on an interruptable self heal.

I like Whisky_Jack's build quite a bit, but it differs from yours by having different pool picks, which may or may not fit your concept. His is far easier to soft cap (get to 45% in each position) largely because he has tough (so he can slot the Steadfast Res/Def - 3% def) and combat jumping which gives around 3% defense when slotted. Combat jumping also allows you to slot Blessing of the Zephyrs for some easy range and AoE damage.

However, your build has neither CJ or tough but instead has aid self, which is a valid choice, but one that I find isn't that necessary for a soft cappped build. Aid self is great if you're into soloing AVs without inspirations (like many people in this forum like to do), but if your ambitions are different, then it's largely unneeded (keep 2-3 greens handy). On my soft capped builds, I can go a very long time without using inspirations and I do not have aid self. I ascribe to the philosophy of having good native regen and some resistance on soft capped defense characters instead of using the tricorder.

Here's your build with some minor modifications and keeping your pool and power choices. I'm not completely happy with it because I'm sure it could be tweaked further, but it's the best I can do with the limited time I have this morning. It's soft capped to melee/range but only has 37% to AoE (which stinks when you're fighting things like Jack in Irons (foot stomp) and some AVs). In those cases, use 1 small purple before the fight.

Yeah, as others have said, the OPs ranged and AOE aren't soft capped. Also, I noticed you had Obliteration sets in powers that come up frequently, so they end cost you have there isnt effective. I only like full obliteration sets in stuff that is on a long timer. I also noticed that you have physical perfection. I skipped it, but then again, I'm very conscious of my endurance costs. Dual Blades is fairly endurance light anyway tho.

Here is the build I went with. Some notes:

* I took every attack for giggles and I'm keeping them all. Concept.
* I wanted to soft-cap without taking Weave, to keep endurance costs lower.
* I don't really care about global recharge so I only have 40% with Quickness.

I like my guy just fine and I have had a lot of fun with him. He is only level 49, so he isnt *quite* softcapped on ranged yet, but he is on everything else. I also havent got the Miracle or Numina yet (tho I dont really need them) but I'm otherwise done just as the build indicates.
