Hero theme music is different now

Anyone else notice this? When the login screen appears the hero music is slightly different during its small proportions of its duration. I do not know about the villain theme but I can tell its different than the theme we have now on live.

I don't have access to closed beta but I assume the same might be true for some of the ingame music as well. Not that anyone out there would be allowed to disclose such information heh.

I'd heard a rumor that it was changed, but considered it just a rumor since it talked about zone arias. I don't think the Dev Team is that much into operatic music, but I could be wrong. I was afraid it was just in Boomtown since they mentioned the concussion. I just assumed they were referring to the stuff near neighborhood changes like going from The Fuse to Powderkeg or Primer, or from from Powderkeg to Cannonade or Grenadier Village.

Who knows, maybe it has been changed.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Not in Beta, but now is curious...

*runs CoH version of test server, listens to music.*
*Adds -cov to it, listens.*
*runs CoH live*
*adds -cov to it, runs live again*

Interesting. Subtle change to Heros. *Really* subtle for Villains. Biggest thing I noticed right away... they don't sound nearly as 'in your face' as the old ones, but... that could be a volume issue. As I'm not in Beta, I can't change volume settings (Hey, Devs. There's something we could use... 'pre game' settings.)

Same cues, just softer sounding... and it sounds like it's more... live symphonic. As if the old ones were synthesized orchestra, and this one added... real, recorded instruments to it? Interesting. I don't mind the change to live instruments (or an upgraded synth that made it happen to sound that way.)

Hope I get into Beta so I can play with the volume and really compare... I'm not sure I like the change, honestly... again, perhaps it's volume. But the new ones don't sound nearly as exciting as the old ones, if what I suspect has been done is right...

Still... that they're even paying attention to the music... that's extremely exciting from a 'ooohh... if they're doing that, what ELSE is going on in there?' kind of way.

This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012

Subtle change. Still clearly from a synthesizer, the horns are a little 'too perfect'.

I wonder what a live studio version with session musicians would sound like? Not saying this isn't good, or that I want an orchestra scoring the music for I17 or GR, or that the London Philharmonic has to do it mind you, but down the road... would be full of win.

Or the villains theme... muah ha ha haah!

there's also been some changes to the general look of the logon screen. most noticable is the more/less rounded edges of the boxes that show username, password, server, blah blah blah...and, i think, button placement.
