Provoke/Challenge Helpful or Hurtful
I tis currently running Merc/Pain Mastermind. I wonder, will Challenge and/or Provoke make things easier or harder while running solo.
As an added note, This is assuming using Single Orign Enhancements. I don't have the kind of luck most people have with IO's so talking about getting certian set pieces are kind of useless with me. |
Provoke was game changing for me on my Ninja/Pain. Yes, you're susceptible to mez, but the reality is that when you get mezzed aggro quickly shifts off of you to those doing damage. Most mezzes are pretty short in duration, short of some crazy Malta/Koa stuns. Use a breakfree when hit with that. Otherwise, with BG, +Res, +Regen and a pbaoe heal, I could take a LOT more hits than any of the Ninjas.
Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)
Im gonna echo Deacon it was game changing on both my ninja/trick arrow and bots/FF.
It just seemed to make everything easier, I didn't have to re-summon my pets nearly as often and MM in BG mode can take one of the biggest beatings in this game.

And your resistances are applied BEFORE sharing, and thus effectively apply to the entire virtual health pool.
A MM isn't going to out-tough a Stone, Invuln, or WP, but it can probably beat lighter sets like EA or Fire. And MMs are way better at taking Alphas than Brutes.
My MM when fully buffed (personal) and the enemy is fully debuffed can reduce AV damage into the single digiits, my pets can get nowhere near that kind of mitigation. The only problem is keeping aggro, which is what provoke/challenge fill in
