Blueside Hami Raid Sunday - Altered Mito Strat

I'd like to try out a slightly different method of taking down the mitos at the raid this Sunday. Be sure to listen to your team leads as they give instructions that may be different from what you are used to.

I'm hoping it will make better use of ATs when we have extras in each category, and may even end up being a bit faster. We'll just have to find out.

If it does not work out, we can easily resume what we've always been doing. See you then!

PS
It would be great if folks on melee toons could pick up Raptor Packs in advance.

Thanks to everyone who came out tonight!

Raid was done in 29 mins from spawn to finish. Thanks again to all who came with Raptor Packs.

Note: There was some confusion if Fly/Hover is OK. Yes, Fly/Hover is definitely OK. The main advantage to having people bring some form of flight is so we can better reach the high targets. This is especially true for melee players, so they don't lose time jumping up and down when they could be dealing more damage. This also helps Controllers with PBAoE holds use them on the green mitos.

Love the new strategy Amy! It was fun and quick. More trollers at a raid is always a good thing!!

I understand this strategy is very similar to Llewthor's strategy for the Redside Hami scheduled for this Saturday. Can't wait to see it in action redside too.

Trev. (P.S. Don't forget, Redside EoE farm this Friday)

Late to the action, but still got in. I've done many Hami raids, now, and this one was unquestionably MUCH faster.

You realize, though, that if we get TOO good at it, they'll have to make an adjustment?

Hmm. I guess I'll have to get in on one of these with the new strategy.

Different is good.

Yes very similar in concept, but adapted for blueside. So if you guys had fun at Sunday's hero raid, please try to go to the villain raid Llewthor is hosting.

(I also like the idea of having similar strats blueside and redside to make it easier on raiders who are trying out either side for the first time.)

Just to give you some perspective, other servers have been raiding in less time than 29 minutes fairly consistently.

Despite the fact that I am really excited by how well our last one went, I want to see this strat in action a few more times before I can confidently say it is an improvement. We had other factors present last night that could have contributed to speed, including quite a few Rads, a full team of Controllers with a very nice mix of secondaries, Fulcrum Shifted Oil Slick to buff the raiders prior to entering the jello, etc. Last night was essentially perfect conditions for that strat to work. I'd like to see how it does over time on less than ideal nights.

Still, I think we can take away ideas that worked well regardless and apply them to future raiding. Stay tuned.

<-- Didn't notice a difference, only that things went faster.

We had 3 defenders on the yellow taunt and almost had a controller out for tanking. Even the new tanks did fine.

And some groups can do extremely short ITFs/LGTFs and every other TF/SF in the book. Are they going to remake all of those too because of those teams? I think not.

This just means that the combination of people at the raid and the coordination is getting better, as well as the leadership. Everything runs more smooth when more people understand what the path to the goal entails. Which is just another reason why your Hami team leads are adding more people to the lead rotations, offering more people the opportunity to learn the roles as well as flush out their own character roster to be able to lead any of the teams at any time. Knowledge is the key to everything. I don't bother to step up and offer to lead any of the teams, but that is very far from saying that I couldn't if I chose to. The same should hopefully and eventually be said about ALL raiders.

Smooth is Fast, and Fast is Win.

They've revamped the Hamidon Raid before, although for different reasons. TFs and such have had their rewards reduced. Don't take too much for granted.

Just a point of reference.

The fastest State's TFs I've done were Master's runs, successful ones at that (and yes plural).
A little more pre-planning and focus on execution goes a long way.
Same for Hami. Analyze the pieces and find the weak spot. As I recall, BaB's was quoted as stating he was surprised we haven't figured out (the new) Hami's weakness yet. Not sure if the recent mito strat is what he meant, but raids near 30mins must mean we are on to something.

The Devs have changed merit rewards on TFs before, and have said they'll continue adjusting should the need arise, which means if people continue to whittle down times they'll lower merit rewards. Hami could see similar changes as well, but I'd imagine they have bigger things to worry about for the near future.

On a side note, but related to Hami Raids: I wonder how Ultra Mode will affect Hami Raids (or mothership raids)? Will anyone be able to run those kind of graphics without choking their computers?
