Hami Raid?!?!?!???!!!!!!!
It is a little different from a Champion run, but then everyone has their own methods.
At Champion they assemble at the entrance. Enter, announce your AT and get selected. Raid leaders are on Ventro. Teams are typically: Hami taunt (sometimes just a single tank I think), yellow taunt and damage teams. Yellow taunt is up to 6 tanks (one for each yellow) and emps. It is important that they taunt at maximum range so the scrapper/attack teams aren't caught in the blast radius.
Raid leader acts as targeter for monster hunt typically going clockwise from the entrance until Hami spawns. Then everyone gathers at the overlook (coward's rock).
EoE's are saved until the RA's wear off.
I don't know the order of attack on the mitos after the yellows are taken down.
Team recall is used to rescue teams from the bloom instead of having everyone hospital it.
I'm really looking forward to hearing your results. (And 54 merits or a Hami-0 is a nice payoff too.)

From what I've read and what some of the other server raid leaders have said, our first raid would probably take 2-3 hours. That is mostly because we haven't raided in a really long time and are probably a little rusty. The time would be cut down drastically as we raid more and more. Getting thru that first raid is gonna be the toughest, because at 3 hours the rewards seems miniscule. If we can get thru the first one, we will be golden on future raiding.

I am usually available Sundays, some Saturdays. I work evenings during the week.
I've been raiding on Champion for years, but I have some roster depth on Liberty as well now. If it's on a weekend I'll be there, willing and able to help coordinate/lead a team if needed.

Hey all, another visitor from Champion.
As Hazygreys said, you can expect the first few Raids to take a bit longer but after a couple of successful raid the time will drop very fast.
When Amygdala decided to try bringing the weekly Hami raid back to the Champion server, we started with a closed group (core raiders) to get to know the raids and understand each leaders and raiders position. Theses first couple raids were very long and many weren't successful BUT it allowed us to really understand what needs to be done.
Some of these "core" people became the raids leaders, each with their own job to do and help guide new people into their designated role in the raid. Once you get that settled, the biggest problem will be to get enough people in the zone. For some reason, people don't like "wasting" their time if they are not 100% sure to get what they want but if you keep going and start getting multiple successful raids, they will come and things will get better and better.
I am free on Sunday's and some on Saturday's but I can arrange a time if I know in advance. I am usually on for a few hours after 10pm weeknights. I have 50 DB/WP scrapper (I am working on leveling other toons but I kinda have altitis so nothing yet) and I would love to get in on a Hami raid.
However, I have never done one. Heck, I only did my first RMS raid last week (It was awesome and really got me stoked to do more raids/TF and so on) so I couldn't lead. But my global is MWRuger. If you get this going, I would love to join you.
PS I am up for auditioning by doing a TF or something if you need to see how I play.

When we first started up community raids again, the first raid took 3 hours, then the next was around 1.5 hours, then they started to run consistently between 30 mins to an hour. So don't get discouraged if your first attempt takes longer than expected. It just takes a few tries to get everyone up to speed on the i9 version of Hamidon.
Once a raid date is set, I'll be more than happy to transfer a toon over to help out.
Best of luck!

Sounds great, Hazy. Really nice to see the visits/offers from other servers, too.
If you all need an extra ventrillo for coordination, I am happy to loan one for Hami raid use. Just let me know.
True story.

I had gone to a raid on Justice earlier in the week and while they raid frequently, there was a lot more explaining of the roles and going over what was going to happen. I think this is how liberty will have to start out, not that that is a bad thing.

Yeah I hope there is some explanation and time to figure it out. For some (me) this is/will be the first time to do the mission/TF/Raid and I have no idea what happened even when we succeed. I did an ITF on Friday and if I hadn't read all about it I wouldn't have a clue what the story was. Maybe we need a group to do non-speed run task forces to let new players in on what needs doing.
Robo's Lounge very rarely runs speed ITFs. we are usually between 50 minutes and an hour. there are some things we rush through, but mostly we kill stuff.

I would guess considering how many 5 year vets were on the team that just assumed everyone had already done it and knew what to do. oops. Not me. Got killed a lot on the second mission because I fell behind while they were killing nictus and triggering ambushes. Died trying to catch up.
So instructions on Hami raid is good idea says I.
Ok here is my 2 cents on a hami raid on this server. The problem with this server is that too many ppl are about I this and I that. The last raid that i lead was private up until about 1/2 hour before it started. It was planned with SG Coalitions and friends. We had all the main teams planned ahead of time. Then when it was time for the raid one of the team leaders were not able to get into the zone because it was full. We asked serveral times for anyone that was not on a team to leave the zone. Nothing happened. So i told everyone to move to hive 2 for the raid and several ppl left and went to hive 2 but we stayed and the leader of one of the teams was able to get in. Had it just been a friend that could not get in no big deal but he was part of what we planned. Then i got several hate tells from ppl so on so forth.
One of the reasons other servers do these on a regular basis is they don't have the selfish ppl that just won't coperate, and they don't have all the chatter in broadcast that happens on this server, it is mostly quiet so everyone knows what is going on. I did 2 raids on vertue and it was ammazing how ppl listened and did what they are told. I am sure it can be done on this server on a regular basis but the right ppl need to be there and everyone needs to listen to what is going on.
It is not like a mothership raid those are mindless and i am still not sure why anyone needs to lead those. Hell a team of 8 can do a mothership raid. So if ppl wanna nut up and do the right thing I might lead one.

Don't be discouraged by servers who have been raiding on a regular basis for a long time. Little instruction is needed for these servers because most people are experienced. As Hazygreys pointed out in an earlier post, the first few raids will take a far greater amount of instruction and communication than subsequent raids. That's exactly how Champion raiding started out. I know it can be difficult at first to get them going, but it's a necessary struggle and with enough attempts and practice, it will get better.
|
I'd advise anyone leading a raid to use the Request channel to give out instructions so to separate instructions from regular banter. However, the biggest source of communication IMO comes from the team leaders. The fact that the i9 raid has several teams with completely different objectives is what really separates it from its predecessor. Instead of one leader trying to explain all the pieces of the raid, having the team leads explain each team's role is much simpler and less confusing.
|
1 a team leader that knows what is going on and can explane it to there team can't get into zone.
2 evreyone not listening and won't put request in a seperate tab because they are too busy talking to there buddy that they usually talk to on a global channel.
I have lead succesful raids on liberty and I went to alot of the old raids. To my knowlage there are only a few ppl that have lead a succesful raid here. O and i forgot one other point ppl get upset when they die and start leaveing lol ppl need to expect a one wipe or 5 for the first few raids.

Remember when doing this TF in 50 minutes was considered a speed run? I do.
