What was I thinking?
Welcome back!
Would you like my stuff?
Thanks for all the welcomes back ( or is that welcome backs? damn pluralization). It feels darn good to be back in a game that makes sense. Which reminds me, the rather slap-sticky humour over there was good for awhile but it just never let up, there was zero seriousness which certainly kills any tension or drama. Here if I want a serious mission there is ample opportunity, and if I want silly there's always the Spring Fling etc.
To the poster that mentioned they wanted to try STO, the real problem there is that it is missing the "feel" of Star Trek. Where are my "alien civilizations", my "strange new worlds"? And you are definitely going where many men, women, children, and aliens have gone before. To be honest if they had called it Babylon 5 it would have made more sense (and I would have definitely played it then ).
My 50s:
Prime Minister MA/SR Scrap - Protector
Captain Hit-Guy DM/Reg Scrap - Freedom
Prime-Minister ILL/TA Troller - Freedom
Ultimate Minister Inv/SS Tanker - Freedom

And, yeah, I did pretty much the same thing the two times I've tried Champions Online. It may or may not have had something interesting in it, but the whole thing is just designed with so, so many things that constantly irk me from all directions that it's like trying to sleep on a bed of nails - no matter how you twist, there's always something poking you in a sore spot. Coming back to City of Heroes was like coming back home where, even though the furniture isn't exactly perfect, it doesn't jab you in the hips every time you turn around.
Champions Online is a fairly traditional WoW clone MMO with a few extra bits rammed into the side via obvious crater. And I'm just not a fan of MMOs.

The Ultra Mode is over hyped. I'm more interested in what they will add to expand the gameplay of the CoX universe.

*edit*
I'm not necessarily sure if reflections were the right way to go, as I'd have preferred glows and dynamic lights, as well as shadows everywhere, but it is what it is.

To each his own. I very much look forward to better graphics that help the game look ever so slightly less horribly dated.
